the dante's don't need to fuse into one dante from DMC2 has the powers of all the others so he could do it by himself and make a doppleganger to help

and the meteor is nowhere near the size of a planet.

There's no reason to assume that Dante loses items/abilities from previous games. The only reason we don't see things like the BoT, Nevan, every firearm, etc. in all the games is because they didn't come out in chronological order and for balance.

Okay to be more specific, all feats throughout all DMC games AND crossovers are taken into account. Time to grab my flame shield....
