Ninja Theory's Dominic Matthews Explains DmC's Satire

The game establishes a social satire of silly things in our society and amplifies it using demons. This is a game that in it's world, "The Man" is evil so is corrupt government and media. After telling you this, the game will literally throw at you a giant demonic news anchor, a demon who spikes a drink with demonic vile that's marketed to the public, a demon king in the form of a banker who has his hands throughout the entire economics system, and even levels where media advertisements to a business metaphor of hell actually become physical obstacles that are out to kill you. You're going to tell me it's not over the top? Seriously, think about it before you answer.
Jesus, it's like talking to a broken record now.

This is clearly what YOU think is over the top and yet you try to make it like it is a fact. No, I do not think this is "over the top".

I get both sides. Yeah, there's something totally in your face about being threatened by a huge Bob Barbas head while being in a satire of Fox news, but then there's the other kind with Dante flying through the air, naked with stuff to hide his junk while the world goes into acid trip Limbo and there's a huge demon trying to wreck Dante's crapshack. That scene made me think of a cranked up DMC3 intro with Dante coming out of the shower drying his hair then demons bust in just as it's pizza time and then he busts the jukebox and goes demon surfing on their asses to music.

No offense but are you just stupid? Or are just refusing to acknowledge the right answer simply because you don't like DmC? I'd give you more credit if you just come out and say you don't like anything about DmC because I couldn't care less if you did or not. But please at least tell me that or I think I really am just talking to some braindead narrow minded person. What I said about the concept of over the top is no less correct than what you said because they are BOTH in a sense of being over the top. You just think it's restricted to how a certain character behaves for some reason.

I don't even care if you people think I'm being mean or not but there's one thing I can't stand that frustrates me the most, that is people being stupid. I see what MultiBro means when he says over the top but that doesn't make what I'm saying any less true or somehow an opinion. An opinion is me saying Metal Gear Solid is the best game of all time. Just pointing out the obvious over the top manners that are present in both versions of Devil May Cry is just pointing out the very evident truth.

Like I said before, I agree that those moments are pretty over the top.

Aaaaand again with the insults. I have never claimed "it's restricted to how a certain character behaves for some reason", I just said when I associate over the top with DMC, it's the hilariously fight scenes and moves Dante does.

And about me not liking DmC? There is some aspects I can give the game credit for, such as the enviroment and Limbo on general, for the record.

Can't we call it quits before this thread just becomes arguing of the nasty kind? ^_^

I'm the type of person that will tell you straight up if you're making yourself look like an idiot. The only thing you brought to the table with your argument was just Dante's stunts he pulled off in the game. I don't know why you're going to completely disregard the overall take DmC has when it literally takes it's rebellious and anti-establishment setting that satires things in our society and turns it into a monster that is out to get it. In the game's sense, it says "the media and government are trying to brainwash and control us and we are at the mercy of their new world order!" While literally pointing at a huge demonic monster who's poisoning our minds and submitting us under their rule with a popular energy drink that's spiked with demonic mind control vomit. It is STILL over the top. It's not an opinion, it's friggen obvious! You need to understand what an opinion is.

No, you are the type of person to resort to name calling and insults as soon as someone doesn't agree with you. This is shown in your other posts in this forum.

I understand very well what a opinion is, I don't find the setting in DmC itself being satire, you do and it is your own damn opinion.

Is it that hard to understand?

Whatever, I'm gonna follow Loopys advice and call it quits since this is going in circles. Goodnight sir.
