Ninja theory not alone in gameplay department

That is exactly what I have been hoping to begin with - that Capcom went to Ninja Theory for help on the story aspects of the game. Thanks for the confirmation, CoolDemon. ^^

I hope these news will calm those who were worried about the gameplay.

Well its still not going to completely settle the worries out there.

There is still the whole 30fps thing and the unreal engine being used for the first time in a DMC game.

The fact Capcom has been revealed to have a part in the gameplay department still does not erase that fact.

Like I said before, the gameplay could possibly be good in 30fps, time will tell.

The gameplay seems kinda slow to me. As if it's lagging by a very tiny bit. And also repetitive. Definetely something there.

I think if capcom trully wanted to put alot of fears to rest they would have hired platinum games to handle the gameplay and let NT handle the overall story.

That could have killed 2 birds with one stone and would have been the smartest move to make at this point.

But that never happened and now we have a divided fanbase.

To hire two companies to do one game... Sounds rather expensive.
It might settle the minds of some fans, but the expenses wouldn't be worth the game they're making...

I doubt it would be out of Capcom's budget to hire to companies.

As much as they spend on Streefighter and Resident evil it would be mere pennies to hire PG to handle just gameplay and NT to handle just the story.

Well, with Street Fighter and Resident Evil, they did not need to split the income with two other companies...

Indeed.

But after spending a buttload of money on advertising and merchandising they might as well have spent enough money to fund two companies.

And for some reason I just doubt NT and PG or all that expensive as your trying to make it seem.

True they are a gaming companies but both are not really all the high profile IMO.

PG only major hit was Bayonetta which really has not been doing to spectacular in the sales and reception wise.

And don't even get me started on NT and their games.

My point is that Capcom could have easily hired these 2 companies to work on this game with no dent in their wallets whatsoever.

Nah, I think Capcom and NT are doing fine by themselves so far...

Well thats your opinion.

But as I pointed out earlier its pretty darn obvious the fanbase is pretty divided now. Just take a look around the web and you will see what I mean.

I was merely making a suggestion as to what Capcom could have did to ease ALOT of fears out there.

I don't really care about how divided the fanbase is. All I care about is how the game will turn out to be.

Never implied that YOU should care how divided the fanbase is.

Obviously the entire fanbase could be against it and it would have no bearing on how you feel about it am I right?

What I was suggesting is that from a business standpoint on Capcom's part it would be a great thing if the entire fanbase was not so divided.

Do you disagree?

I'm afraid I do not know enough about Capcom's business plan to make a point about that, really.
I guess the numbers of the sales when the game launches will be the answer you seek...

Sorry but, what type of answer is that?

I'm asking do you think its a good business move to have a fanbase divided before a game is even released?

I'm speaking in general now just to clarify.

Do you think its a good business move to have half of your consumers firmly against your game and the other half for it?

I was trying to see it from Capcom's point of view.
They might lose some fans, but they also seem to have appealed to a whole new group of fans to replace those lost. But to be sure if it is enough, we have to wait to see the numbers of sales.

I was actually asking you for a straight forward yes or no answer but oh well....

True we will have to wait and see if the newer fans or enough to replace alot of the older fans they stand to lose from this new direction.

I just fail to see why Capcom could not have found a way to appeal to the older fanbase while bringing newer fans in. It baffles me really why they decided to take such a direction.

I rarely do just yes or no... What's the point of being on a discussion forum if it came to just that?

Emotionally, it is indeed a big loss though. That I can relate more to. I don't know if Capcom sees it, but I do. So many disappointed fans left behind without even getting a "Sorry, but this is what we would like to do with the franchise now." from Capcom. So many fans must feel abandoned and shattered by all these changes made to their beloved character and franchise... Well, it's not really theirs, but I know some fans see it like that.

They all have my sympathies.
I guess I am just lucky that I can accept the changes made, so I won't feel that heavy disappointment raging over my head like a thundery cloud.
