Well, for them DMC3 is the pinnacle of hack and slash gaming, and I would probably agree, but that doesn't mean DmC can't be a great game in its own way. I don't put much stock in "better than DMC3" or "best DMC to date!" I just care about it being a great, well-functioning game. I don't need this to surpass DMC3 - if it does in my eyes, then that's great, if not, that's okay too.
This is what I think as well, combatwise I'm 100% positive that this will not be anywhere as good as DMC3 and 4, but if it's good and have more depth than most action games (and I believe it will), I'll gladly buy and play it. I'm excited to see what NT brings up to the table, and if the combat is fun, there's no reason for me not to play it. I don't care about the series that much to boycott a game I like just because I'm afraid it could mean the end of DMC. I still play DMC4, and if the PC version of DMC3 was good I'd still play it as well. If DmC doesn't hold up and they don't bring back DMC (or at least develop DmC 2 by themselves), I'll just go back to DMC4 after I get bored with DmC...Well, for them DMC3 is the pinnacle of hack and slash gaming, and I would probably agree, but that doesn't mean DmC can't be a great game in its own way. Am I the only one that thinks DmC has the potential to be better than DMC3 and DMC4?
True. And we shall get a taste of it in only 5 more days. No, you're not the only one.
I can see this game being better than DMC 3 or 4, but we will only know for sure in 15 of January xD
A better game? Sure, it can be.Am I the only one that thinks DmC has the potential to be better than DMC3 and DMC4?
Welp I guess I'm crazy then because I'm telling you guys just wait and see.A better game? Sure, it can be.
Better combat? I think you're nuts.
DmC.DMC3 was released in 2005 and DMC4 in 2007... and well I'm not going to count DMC4 because most of it was a lazy re-hash of DMC3 anyway.
Will DmC top DMC3? Maybe, I hope so. DMC3 came out almost seven years ago. By most account it's been surpassed by Bayonetta; but other than that nothing really stands out. DMC3 will not remain the staple of which combo-based action games are judged for much longer; and I personally would be quite happy if another Devil May Cry is the game to take that title from it.
