New xbox360, gameplay

It was always chance when I did it, but it's always with an upper blade attack focused in the center (hold up and destroy the triangle button). I don't remember how I did it. Keeping it in the air is the really tricky part. You can also break it if you hold it down long enough.

I remember being able to slash and shoot it, never thought You could high time it, that's pretty neat! They removed this in the HD collection though, not sure why.

There is the mentioning of that eventstatus guy in the comments.
I guess he is the cynical side? Judging from our previous threads?

he doesnt like the game mainly because of how the PR was handle when the game was announced and how the game just seems to take ideas from other places instead of have new ideas altogether.

*shrug* Features can be unnecessary. Taking low data models into an empty space isn't a lot of information to render, plus, it's also just something stylized to do, I suppose.

But they would still need to load the same polygon count, the render of the skin doesn't take up much resources as it's essentially just an image.

It's all in those polygons.

Black models must be for some other reason. Possibly the style like you mentioned.

From what I've seen, he's just a gigantic baby who spins everything into something bad and then complains about it for an hour...

And there honestly are a lot of cool ideas to this game, I don't really see anything that's a "blatant rip-off" that wasn't already something DMC did previously.

DEM POLYGONS.

There is kinda a "They Live" thing going with the story though(which is an old theme anyway) it even feels like they based Dinos one liners off his style. If you haven't seen the film, I'd check it out, not my cup'a tea personally but people may enjoy it and I'm sure you'll see what I mean.

Though as the age old argument goes "what is original anymore?", it's all about delivery.

Tameem actually talked about how They Live was one of his favorite movies, and he got some inspiration from there :p

Although considering the original Dante was based off of Space Adventure Cobra...they can't really cry fowl. Until they gave Dante a longer coat halfway through, he looked almost just like Cobra >.<

Was that what it was? I knew Dante was based off something but couldn't remember what so didn't want to say, I'll have to look.

I also thought I remembered Tam talking about They Live but wasn't sure. I watched it recently for the first time without thinking of comparing the two and was like "damn, this is just like DmC" then vaguely remembered Antoniades talking about it.

Yeah, Tameem liked that idea of there being something just beyond the human scope that controls people (although it was aliens in They Live). Although, he took it a huge step further, making Limbo a living, breathing world that turns into such crazy environments. Even the way it taunts Dante is a cool idea. I also like that little touch of poles and stuff crumpling up when Dante walks past them, just because of the small bit of Malice creeping closer.
