from what we've seen sparda's demon form is hime shirtless with horns that you would mistake with this

True. I love the stylized look of the classic enemies, but I like what they're doing with these ones. It's playing off more psychological fear and horror.

That's exactly why I'm not into them, myself. I wouldn't play most psychological horror games if you paid me money. But, thankfully, the number of bright and open environments (DMC1's claustrophobic haunted-house Mallet was much more unsettling, IMO, than any backgrounds I've seen so far in DmC, and I still enjoyed it because the enemies were stylistic enough to balance it out) offsets the creepy enemies quite effectively for me.

Sort of off-topic, but did you know that wheelchairs are an inherent psychological fear for many, with overturned wheelchairs instilling a fear of helplessness and no way of escaping?
 
I really love the concept of limbo
It let NT go overboard with their art style and made DmC look much more visually stunning than not only previous games but also other games from other genres as well
 
It's cool, because when you start playing around with abstract environmental concepts, you can get some really interesting set pieces, and great platforming segments where the area can still feel like part of the narrative, instead of just being a bunch of random floating platforms or something. Can't wait to see what else they do :3

Thank you for reminding me of Silent Hill 4, where the wheelchairs were supposed to move around and hit you at random, but actually seemed to take aim when I've played it. I don't know how many times they hit Henry before I got so annoyed that I started shooting them.

Anyway, I like that NT made this one more psychological. To me it's more interesting when the enemies have some meaning to them other than just existing. I was playing the demo yesterday and kind of spent most of the time looking at the black roots/veins you see around Limbo. First they reminded me of SH, then the movie Splinter (at least I think that's the title). The movie because of how they would reach out for Dante and follow him. Then again I'm mostly a horror fan, so I'm likely to draw a lot of parallels because of it.
