Do the guns look demonic?
They look like they can shape shift just like Rebellion can. It could be a pretty nice animation when you change weapons. But thats all just speculation. And yea i do think the guns look demonic. They look more possessed than the original E&B. The one thing that i do think is better in the original was the way the guns were fired. They seem more aggressive, and to me, it was just another way of killing demons. The guns in DmC seem to only provide time and space. I didn't ever see NeoDante shoot the hell out of any demon so far. I've seen ricochet shot, but even that couldn't compare to mowing down enemies from anywhere on the stage with basic firing.
The cool down system seems pretty damn stupid. Thats like making the Bloody Palace have a time limit stupid. Unless they provide you with an upgrading system that can speed up cooling time, i guess it would be ok, but I WANT INFINITE AMMO GOSH DARN IT!!!

I consider myself a pretty good player, yet I never felt that E&I were useful for anything but juggling.
I won't miss the infinite spray of bullets. It's not like you can do anything stylish with the guns.

Um, besides twosome time and Rainstorm, you mean?

I've ever only used the guns when there are flying demons whom I wish to fall down to the ground so I can smack them around with a melee weapon... or if I just want a boss to stay away from me while I slowly deplete its health.

The guns were never that useful in the original series. They are secondary weapons for a reason.

I like to mix it up. The point of Devil May Cry has always been style over substance unlike Ninja Gaiden (an equally astounding pair of games in their own right). One thing I like about DMC is it's one button special style based moves. Prop shredder, Rainstorm, Royal guard block, Dash, Fire cracker...

both moves for which I'd need Gunslinger, a style I never used.
Swordmaster/Trickster/Royal Guard all the way, but Gunslinger is for sissies.
Well im no sissy, and i prefer gunslinger over all the other styles. In DMC 4, once you maxed out all the other styles , trickster/sword master/Royal Guard, there is no competition. So i stick with the basic of the basic when playing. Especially when i play on harder modes, i choose a handicap to make things interesting. Although in DMC4, there are points when u have to change styles or you die.
But i still favor the gunslinger, ever since dmc2

my favorite style is the one you use by pressing the triangle/Y button

Really i only use the styles when I feel like it,

Shapeshifting guns would be cool and that reminds me of the morph gun from Jak and daxter. It would be cool if they can turn into tonfas or be used as melee weapons. I was thinking of making the guns semi-sentient.

I dunno if I would like my guns firing on their own.

Have any of you seen the movie "Push"?
There's a scene in that movie where the main character uses telekinesis to make a pair of guns levitate in the air and shoot at others. It would be cool if Ebony and Ivory had a function where they would levitate on each side of Dante and shoots at the enemies while Dante swings Rebellion at the same time. If the guns indeed are demonic by nature, it could be possible.
