well of course i mostly like gameplay because that's what makes devil may cry great, i also just really like the style of dmc, something about it just excites me unlike any other game
Oh, god! No enemy surfing! While we're at it, let's Minimize the over the top Yeehaa's and WhoooHoo's, too!
I actually liked the enemy surfing from DMC3.
It added to Dante's cool demeanor and style.
But to each his own I suppose.

i shall try, i like the themes of the game brotherly rivalry between dante and vergil, sparda rebelling against demons to save others,and so on. also there are many things i mean i like about the style as in:
*fighting demons
*stylish action that gives you wide variety of moves
*story isn't the best, but it is to my liking (except for dmc4)
*styles of weapons is unique, as well as people and places
so those are just a couple things i mean by style
There's nothing 'cool' about a grown man that acts like an hyper-active, virgin nine-year-old. Especially when he's supposed to kill horrible things for a living. Cool is one thing, obnoxious and immature is another.

He's a teenager, not a grown man. Teenagers tend to be abnoxious and imature.
Dante in DMC 3 is around 18 years old. How is he acting immature? He's killing demons... or is there a certain way demons should be put out? Like some sort of ritual?

Wtf they are demons and evil. Dante is superior to them and he likes joking around...

18 is an adult last time I heard. Compare Dante's personality to the much younger Nero. They're both cocky, but Nero still maintains some seriousness. Whoo hoo just doesn't do it for me. I want to play as a bad ass not a loony toon.
Beatrice might be an ugly name, but the name Trish derives from Beatrice, the wife of Dante Alighieri in The Divine Comedy: Dante's Inferno.
How do you come to the conclusion that surfing on a evil monster makes Dante immature and obnoxious? Do you say the same thing for DmC's character?
I don't mind cocky characters, but you're right, DMC3 Dante was rather on the goofy and cheesy side. Surfing on demons is a cool move though, and he doesn't have to yell "WHOOHOO" when doing so.
It's getting better , they really fixed allot of things and the most that I care about is the music , it sounds AWESOME
yes, i want demon surf back lol, or at least something close to it, a move to make this dante stand out, a stylish yet brutal move i guess
I didn't say it made him immature and obnoxious on it's own. If it were all he did it would be fine, it would be cool. It's the total package. The Daffy duck in the character that comes out at once. It's all so over the top and cheesy. I don't find that approach cool. Over the top action is cool on a rounded character. Over the top character plus over the top action is not my cup of tea. It's fine if you like it. It just doesn't fit me. I'm not a fan of extremes in personality. I really hated Kratos in god of war because he was so freaking overly ****ed all the time. He could have benefited from some enemy surfing and pizza.
