Who is Nero and where did he come from? Also where is Dante in DMC4, i know he is about but why not follow his storyline as normal?

Nero is the new main character of Devil May Cry 4 with Dante having to share his spotlight now. Nero is a sardonic character and doesn't like to be messed around.

Nero wields a gun like Dante, has a big sword like Dante which is named Red Queen, he has a long coat like Dante but black, and he has long white hair. It has also been confirmed that Nero is NOT a son of Sparda and that Nero's resemblance will not be featured in the storyline. Nero's revolver is double-barreled yet it has been stated that reloading will not be an issue.

Nero also sports a demonic right hand which contains many different powers to use against enemies including drawing in enemies and sending enemies flying. The awakening of these powers in Nero will apparently make up one of the plot elements in Devil May Cry 4.

It's unknown as to whether or not Nero has a Devil Trigger or not but Nero actually possesses demonic abilities within him thanks to the Devil Bringer.

Nero lives on the remote island of Fortuna which is the setting for most of the game. He belongs to an order that worships Sparda and fight demons in his name. Nero does "Special jobs" for the order cleaning up "messy situtations". Because of Nero's nature, the Order prefers to send him out to do the jobs alone as Nero prefers to be a lone wolf. This religious group called the Kyoudan Kishi, or "Order of Knights.", is a religious order which protects the secrets and powers of demons from the world. In Fortuna, the people here believe that Sparda is a god and that the order that Nero works for wants to undo Sparda's seal. Sparda was actually a fuedal lord in Fortuna, hence the worship.

The reason why Nero wants to kill Dante is because his entire unit was slaughtered by Dante. When Dante also kills the priest in the church of the Order, Nero really shows Dante what he's capable of.

Capcom's Gamer's Day revealed interesting information on a new ability of Nero's Devil Bringer that allows Nero to conjure up a demonic spirit that helps Nero in battle. When using your sword attacks, the demonic spirit will unleash a barrage of powerful and deadly attacks that are double the strength of Nero's himself. When using gun attacks, the demonic spirit will create energy swords similar to Vergil's Summoned Swords that can be fired off at a foe.

It seems that this spirit is indeed Nero's equivalent of Dante's Devil Trigger with the Devil Bringer being responsible for this spirit...or even vice-versa as it's also stated that this spirit is the true essence of the Devil Bringer and responsible for its creation and attachment to Nero.

When it comes to Dante however, the Devil Trigger will return yet is unknown as to what it offers. The only hint of his Devil Trigger came in the video containing the Nero vs. Dante cutscene where Dante's arm violently Devil Triggers.
