My thoughts on DmC: Devil May Cry

I honestly never saw a resemblance between Tam and Dante, except the hair, which has been changed.

Right? His face looks NOTHING like Dante's. His face didn't even look like 2010 Dante's face. The hair is debatable. Antoniades' is wavy, while Dante's is very straight.

I think it's cause people dont want their favorite character to be remodelled after someone. They think it is disrespectful for the character to be treated that way, especially someone like Dante who has an iconic look and is noted for his iconic look.

Dude, DMC3 Dante's look was based off someone; Reuben Langdoon. Plus, Dante's look has to be based off someone since you really can't just make up a face without thinking about a face reference to use.

i'm not saying i agreed with the assessment, I just provided a reason why people are ****ed off about it.

Even if that were true, which I don't think it is, people didn't know who he was untill after the game's release, and those who did know sent him angry letters letting him know that they weren't happy about his pressence.

I wonder if angry fans are sending hate mail to Tim Phillipps now?

Crowds initial reaction to New Dante: "We dont know who you are, and for that. we dont like you..."
(I thought this for awhile, but then got over it)

With regards to people complaining about enemies being weak and taking a while to die...

Any of you who have owned DMC3:SE, take a look at the demo and "crazy combo" videos on there. The enemies in those videos act as though they have little to no AI and take forever to die. The "enemy AI-invulnerability" switch is being used in those early trailers to allow the player to show off a bit. Would this not also be the case with DmC?

i think it would be an interesting dilemma to see how people react to the live action Actor chosen to play Dante for the movie.

Edit: You won't have to wait for long. A live-action movie based on DmC is (presumably) being planned.

That's all I gotta say.

Going back on-topic i think even NT did try to sort out contuiniuty and move the series forward, they still might have been with scrutinty as fans might not have like the answers they gave or what they brought to the table.

Can't please them all.

For a large portion of fans, DMC should have stayed the same way with absolutely no changes at all. However, there would still be the terrible camera motioning, the fanfiction style story-telling (Then again every story in the world is a fanfiction of an original somehow), Dante acting like a bigger joke then before, and so on.

For the other portion, DMC needed to change with a new look on it. However that meant giving up the iconic white haired red coated one-liner hero for the black haired black coated witty emo punk anti-hero, change in the enviornment from creepy castles to modern mixed with european streets, and original DMC fans judging you and calling you an idiot or a dumbass for liking it, or worse. The same old "You're not a true DMC fan if you like this game." I hate that.

It's Tameem.

I <3 Reuben :blush::w00t:

Also, DMC4 Dante's features are based off David Beckham, imo. There's some Reuben in there too, but yeah, I saw a pic where someone put the 'human' skin on a closeup of DMC4 Dante and he looked a lot more like David than Reuben.
So now I envy Posh and stalk her on twitter.
No, I'm kidding. (Sort of)
They base the character off the motion capture artist because it's easier/makes it look better onscreen. Something along those lines. So unless DmC Dante's voice actor also does his mocap...

The voice actor is Tim Phillipps and yes he motion captures as Dante in DmC too.
Here's a better video of Tim Philipps
