MAJOR SPOILERS! ENDING SHOWN HERE

That. Was. DEFINETELY better then DMC3's Vergil.

This was what I wanted DMC3's final battle to go. Actual brother to brother conflict after such a long time of joining forces. Finally, an actual relationship between brothers, only for it to be ripped away by conflicting differences. Not the constant "fight, separate, fight, separate, fight and no actual words.

Definitely better then DMC3's final fight for me.
You have to be joking... What did Dante say about Vergil at the start of the game? "Its been a whole year since we last met" This refers to the DMC3 Manga where Vergil offers Dante half of Sparda's power if I can recall. I'm not going to go into too much detail but there is a back story between the two, it was just placed in a manga that came out with the game to clear up what was going on in DMC3.

I like the idea behind their reason to fight (seems as plausible as DMC3 reason) but did not dig that fight at all. Or the arena/colors, and that music was annoying me. Underwhelmed.

Story wise maybe, but combat wise it looks pretty tame. I remember playing DMC3 Vergil and despite the story feeling less emotionally built up to that point the fight felt epic. This fight looks pretty lame, but my view might be tainted because the first time I fought Vergil 3 was on vanilla DMC3 (so it was on hard).

Yeah, the conflict was good, but the ending itself was quite underwhelming. Like: "that's it? really?"

Yeah, well. It wasn't THAT bad. Plus it lead off to a possible sequel. But in terms of a story, it kind of was underwhelming. Guess Tameen wasn't as amazing a writer as the people of Heavenly Sword and Enslaved, but all in all; Not too bad.

Ending gets a 3/5 from me.

It would only bore you anyway, they really should've made the fight harder, even on normal.

Perhaps I'll start the game on Nephilim then, since I'm a semi-hardore DMC fan. I want a friggin challenge! I want Vergil to chop me up to confetti in less than a minute in a half JUST like what the regular Vergil did to me when I fought him in the final battle of DMC3 for the first time.

Yeah, a year compared to half a life time and forgotten memories of who you are and what you truly are.
Sorry, but I gotta go with DmC on this one.

He did say it was on normal. I'll see for myself if the fights hard.

So does anyone know if you can start on Son of Sparda, because I swear I heard a reviewer say you can only start on Nephilim.

This was really disappointing in my opinion.

The whole "Vergil gaining power" was really obvious even before I watched trailers and spoilers of the game. Kinda glad that I won't be buying it. I guess now I can watch the rest of the game to see how it plays out as well as combo videos that people will release.

And I personally don't think that this was better than the DMC3 fight. I didn't see that much tension between the two compared in DMC3.

The ending is not bad, but it seems NT has a nag for these sort of endings, which is kind of annoying to be honest.
I need to write a letter to NT elaborating on this:
Dear Ninja Theory,

Remember that your games do not need such open-ended conclusions. When a game has an incredibly satisfying end, it awards the player. It makes it feel like it was completely worth paying attention to the plot.

I can not get disappoint that another person making the game have not read my mind and made something the way I would like it because making a game is art and the artist have to do as they want I may not like it but I am not going to act as if they have to make something the way I want to please me and get upset when they don't do it because I expected something different and they did not read my mind..but from what I saw I liked it and it got to my feelings with what happened and to think what they went through and to get here and that happen I mean damn man I want to hug my siblings and crap.
xD

It's is not to say I can't get disappointed in something in a game but I realize I had no hand in it and they could not predict what I would want they are the ones creating and you can't please everyone..damn why did I look at that now I have these feelings going about and the thought of everything..bad me for having no will power and now want to play the game more to get to that..but then it is going to be hard to do so knowing that is what is going to happen..the good things would be so bitter sweet...damn have to work tomorrow good thing is work will make the days go by faster..three days in a row...ugh.

I don't see how anybody can make any judgements whatsoever on the ending. How could you see or hear what was going on? I got the general gist of what was going on but the ending is basically unspoiled for me because of how crappy the quality was.

That was a lame ending and NT was so proud of their story.

Even the fight was a big lackluster. Cutscenes interrupting and no real flow to it.

I can't people are actually defending this ending.

Here's hoping that there won't be a DmC2.
