Well it did seem like Virgil saw humans a lesser being not even close to being equals like thats how it should be. It they did it things probably woulda went downhill cuz of Virgils viewpoint on humans.

I can see that, still no need to do what he did, even Vergil would probably just point his sword at Dante and tell him one more time to stand aside instead of just going in there and stabbing him like crazy.

That being said, I think the scene was ok as a whole. I think some people are judging way too much that part, though. That's not the ending, it's just part of it. Everything starts with Mundus fight. We need context, focus on what came before.
That's true, what about all the stuff with Mundus, there could've been a whole lot more there o.o

I'm not harsh. Everyone insists on giving the old games a free pass while tearing apart every minor detail in DmC. It's a double standard, and I'm sick of it.

IMO, this ending was pure sex.
Dante and Vergil formed a rather close bond, and even though they both care about the human race in the end, they have different ideas about how things should ultimately be.
I'm really glad that Vergil just isn't "evil."
And the fight itself was wonderful. The different stages were exciting for me to watch. If the guy was playing on Devil Hunter mode, then obviously it'll look easy(as I honestly believe we all would start on Nephilim, I mean it is for those who are used to playing Devil May Cry), but you can quite successfully cheese out Vergil 3 as well. It's not like he just stood in one spot. He was dodging and moving around to avoid Vergil's attacks. It's pretty apparent that it wasn't his first time fighting him.
It did end pretty abruptly, but why drag it out? Because it's the ending? We got all of the information we needed. They're at odds now. Vergil left. Was he supposed to stick around and be menacing? How do we know there aren't any secret scenes after or even during the credits?
I thought it was awesome and I don't see how DMC3 was in anyway better. Honestly, no matter what the ending was, I pretty much expected this reaction, so I can't say I'm surprised.

Sorry dude, this IS the ending. Someone already posted the ending of this game on GameFaqs about 5 days ago and everything they said that was in the ending was in that video. They even went on about the other boss fights.

I think it's fair to compare this to DMC4's ending, but comparing it to a game from 2001? Let alone the fact that NT was hired for their story telling and western appeal so it is fair to be dissapointed that they didn't deliver an epic ending.

While it what you said is true for DMC2,3,4; 1 is the exception it was the first in the series and everything else evolved from that. It was this strange hybrid of a Resident evil game and a hack n slash you can compare the series but thats like comparing resident evil 1 to 6 it doesn't work well
