Major DmC Update

I think the "extended ending" will more or less be Vergil's Downfall.
Hopefully we can expect another mission with Dante? Probably not. We won't see him until DmC2, if it's ever released.

So, I ask to be 100% sure: This patch is only for the PC-version, right? If I boot up my DmC on PS3, I will not get it, right?

We're assuming the console patches will come out a little later, because they have to be approved by Microsoft and Sony respectively. Steam is much easier to patch with.

So how's the style drop patch working? I don't think many have ever thought through the negatives, in that several enemies you can't simply run into, like the damned Butcher, dreamrunners, and Tyrants.

Also, 1.6 gig update? That has to be for much more than a simple style patching.

Thank you for your answer. By the way, are the PlayStation patches something that you have to intentionally download and install or do they do that automatically? (I'm rather new to these things, because I just connected my PS3 to the net and have no idea how the stuff works).

If you have a PSN account (must be signed into the PSN to update games) and boot up the game, it will ask you to update the game when they release the update.

Probably texture and sound glitches as well.
You'd be amazed about the amount of memory that goes into simple glitch corrections.

Or they could be "pre-patching" Vergil's Downfall, so when you buy Vergil's downfall all you do is unlock it.

Yup, I made an account for myself. Can I refuse to update the game or is the update forced on me?

Some games force you to update to play.

So let me get this straight.

In DMC4 we had this new ranking in the style meter, in which the rating only dropped when out of combat and when taking damage. But that was only true for S ratings and lower, since they each had its own "bar". When it came to SS and SSS ratings, they would drop quickly since they were "inside" the S ranking "bar".

So, there is a patch to the new DmC style system that will make it drop in a similar way? Is that what it is?

When this comes out for the consoles the leaderboards will be meaningless if they are not reset.

Nobody will be able to touch the top spots with the new stye system.

That is not really true since if I got this right, only the rating will drop, not the Style Points themselfs, just like it was in DMC4.

Oh wait, but the rating is like a instant multiplier to your style points, so you may be right here.

I think that's pretty much it. At least for me.
