Multibro, I thought this was done, and we could focus on the initial theme of this thread. But I guess that would have been too simple and easy. So, I'm going to try to explain why your statement was met with hostility by me vs what you believe was a similar statement by chancey.
Chancey's Post
"Combichrist has got some decent tunes. I'm not all about the dubstep on Noisia's end but Combichrist's aggrotech stuff is alright. The song I liked the most on the soundtrack though was Throat Full Of Glass. It sort of had a NIN thing going on"
This was okay, because Chancey didn't outright dismiss the music and at least was able to name the bands being discussed in the original post. It was muted praise, but it was praise, and I could easily discern that he preferred combichrist over Noisia because dubstep wasn't his thing.
Your Post
"I can't say I really cared for the music. I liked some of the more metal like songs but I have never been a fan of dubstep at all.
Hell, I don't even know which band plays which songs in DmC."
This would have been okay were it not for your second line that I bolded, that is what made your post go from harmless opinion to passive aggressive trolling. That line is the difference. It literally means that you thought the music was so generic and forgettable that you can't even be bothered to figure out who did the metaly tracks you sorta tolerated and who did the dubstep that you can't stand.
That line with the baggage that your name carries to some people like me is what made me respond the way I did. I hope you don't take this the wrong way. It's me being as honest as possible about why you got the reaction you did.
Who liked your response: Martius... Need I say more?
I'm trying to tell you HOW your words are interpreted because of the reputation you have for fans like me. It was me being honest, and again yo
u're further strengthening my argument by pointing out that you didn't care enough to even learn the band names or what type of music they were responsible for: IF this was the case, why did you post in a thread specifically asking people which band they preferred, and pretty much dismissed all of the music as forgettable. I give up. I don't even know why I bothered trying.
As for your question, Where did I say that I thought it was "generic" or "forgettable"?
Here, this is where you said it, "it didn't motivate me enough to check out who they were"
It can be inferred by anyone with basic reading comprehension that you found the music generic and forgettable if you weren't motivated enough to really find out the people responsible for it.
You guys just love playing victim.
Congrats, for derailing another thread. Keep feigning ignorance. You didn't have to post in this thread if you didn't even care about the bands being discussed. It was not a GENERAL MUSIC thread about DMC. I hope you're happy with another successful destruction of a harmless thread. I bow in awe of your trolling skills.
Ok, so why do you have to be so angry all the time? Seriously, I do not get it.Another person to add to my ignore list. Yeah, this is the sign of real maturity here everyone. This is a real gamer right here, tough guy, talking **** telling this "fanboy with a stick rammed up his ass" how it is, because that's how real gamers who want to have reasonable adult like discussions talk, bro, all ramming sticks up asses and ****.
Oh, btw, before I waste anymore time, mind telling me where the original posts asks to discuss your overall opinion of the music in the game.
Its a poll between the two bands, I don't see a third choice neither, and before you came along to defend your buddy I had tried several times to explain to him why he elicited the reaction that he did. That was an effort on my part to come to a reasonable understanding. But obviously, reading comprehension, and critical thinking are skills that both you and him lack.
"I was fairly okay with the music in the game, certainly not to my own personal taste but then i can see why people would enjoy it. If i ever did choose to, y'know, replay it for whatever reason, i would probably put together a playlist of music i find more appealing like say:"
If you're too dense to see how transparent the bs in your response is, that isn't my problem. One could copy your generic response and apply to any soundtrack discussion it adds absolutely nothing of value to the OP discussion, because it doesn't discuss the two bands Noisia and Combichrist; and it doesn't tell us which one music's/work you prefer. So I'll say it again, reading comprehension, please work on it.
And also, act like a goddamn 27 year old and stop embarrassing yourself by talking like an immature 13 year old, saying comments like "fanboy stick you have rammed up your ass" will guarantee no intelligent person will take your comments seriously.
It's like: You agree with me? You're my new best friend. You don't agree with me? You're an evil troll who must be stopped and ignored but not before I try and pull you down in front of the whole community and try to make you look and feel bad.
That's how you're coming across. In almost EVERY post you make at the moment. How is it constructive? How does it help other people put their opinions across when there is that fear of you jumping all over them, calling them "trolls", reporting them and slamming people who "like" their posts? It's not edifying in the slightest, it's demolishing people. And that is not nice and not an element of your character you would want to continue feeding.
Little tip: if you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Furthermore, disagreement is NOT the same as trolling. A true troll would not try and reason with you or explain themselves - they'd just sit back and enjoy the ride. If you keep adding people to your ignore list over something as innocuous as this particular thread, you're not going to have anyone to discuss anything with by the end of this month at the rate you're going. Learn to deal with a differing opinion with respect and maturity - if the other person doesn't, that's not your problem. You are responsible only for yourself, your actions and your reactions. Keep them in check and then it's far easier to weed out the true trolls from the simple personality clashes.
Take a few days to cool off, ok? Normally I wouldn't be calling someone out like this but I don't think entering into a lengthy discourse with you at this time will amount to anything. So have a little break, have a think about whether you reckon you can handle being part of a community of people who will all think differently to you and then please do come back and we'll start again, ok?
Thanks.
Carry on, please, everyone.
