Let's talk about the Tokusatsu genre

Really? I thought that was the best part about it. I smiled my @ss off at all the Mighty Morphn Power Rangers references. Try Episode 2 it doesn't have any references, I think it appeal to you. If not hold out because the end of Season 1 and MegaForce Season 2 will contain the Super Sentai Legend War and that should appeal to you. Picture all the Rangers from every Season in a big @ss war. :D

I'm not against nostalgia, i just felt it was being too nostalgiac to where it became just a beat for beat rehash of Mighty Morphin where I felt Dino Thunder did it without being too much of a rehash.

I never got a MMPR feel from DT, strange. Did you try episode 2?

For me ended that I rewatched Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger. I just loved show for humour, and that shame that PR Megaforce in second season will barely get from this show. I think that pirate theme was fun too :)
 
Fellow tokusatsu fan here, loving the fact that this thread is even here. I'll be sure to share my thoughts of the coming episodes.

Wizard Infinity looks far better then i thought it was going to, can't wait to see that in action... as for Hyper Beast, eh. It could have been worse. MUCH worse.

Maybe it will be off topic but welcome on forum here. Im one of active posters in this thread so sometimes expect an episodes or images here from KR Wizard and other Tokusatsu series :)
 
That's good to hear, i've been watching Rider since the start of Kiva and i've gone back and watched pretty much everything that's been subbed. I started watching sentai with Shinkenger while Goseiger was airing and then watched regulary from Gokaiger.

I've recently just finished Ryukendo if anybody is familiar with it.
 
Kamen Rider Kiva is my all time favorite Rider ever!!! Wataru is Epic on the movie!!
Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger airs February 17, so expect Over-Time to have a sub by Monday. Power Rangers MegaForce airs February 16 at 12/1 time.
Lordd thanks for posting the Wizard and Beast power up pics.
KRSkull Jasmise will appear in Kyoryuger! And yeah Lordd that mecha is Kyouryu Gold's.
 
Megaforce looks like it's going to be pretty good. The first few episodes of Samarai didn't feel right for some reason.
Can't put my finger on it. Is it worth watching?

Regardless I think in space and lost galaxy are the best power rangers series.
 
I have to agree with that, In Space and Lost Galaxy were easily the best and even Rescue was pretty darn good too.

I didn't watch much of Samurai to be honest, it felt like they were trying too hard in the wrong way buuuut then again, i really enjoyed Shinkenger's story telling over it's action so i'm likely biased on the subject.
 
Pardon the double post but has anybody watched the first episode of Kyoryuger? Man somebody on the writing team decided to marathon watch GaoGaiGar before busting out a script.

Samurai's problem is that Tzachor was trying too hard to just make it Shinkenger in English, instead of taking footage and smashing it's face it to fit a US written story. they were blowing money recreating exact shots for Samurai from Shinkenger, to the point i was like "...am i watching power rangers, or some weird method of dubbed Shinkenger? WHY IS A PASTY WHITE GUY BEING SAID TO BE FROM A JAPANESE NOBLE CLAN?!"

...yeah...hi...I'm not a toku fan, not at all...:shifty:
