Killzone 3 Slated For Being A 'COD Clone'

Reviews for Sony’s much publicised shooter Killzone 3 are out with one critic condemning the title for being too much like a Call of Duty clone.

The Guirrella-developed PS3 exclusive is averaging 87 per cent on Metacritic, with two critics giving it 100%.

However, magazine Games slated the title for being too close to Treyarch’s shooter, stating: “From a single-player point of view at least, Killzone 3 is the biggest disappointment of the year so far. It does have a few exhilarating moments, and it can probably still just about claim to have the best graphics ever, but it fundamentally plays more like a formulaic Call Of Duty clone than a successor to the current generations most intense, visceral FPS.”

Most reviews are a lot more favourable, however, claiming more variety in the environments and action with excellent visuals and an improved multiplayer.

Most reviews, however, disliked the single-player campaign for being less memorable than before.

Killzone 3 is out February 22.

So its wrong to emulate the best now? I remember reading a review for Killzone 2 stating that its not like Call of Duty and that it should be, but now its getting criticized for being like Call of Duty.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Personally, I liked Killzone because it wasn't like CoD. So this is a bit disappointing.
