Re: keeping new memebers on track

We have a lovely rules section you know.

But new people sometimes overlook it.

If it bothers you so much, do what good senior members do. Politely inform them of their mistake and then report it/ let an online staff member know.

Thats what I do anyway, it works great.

Usually they realize their mistake and don't do it again.

They learn our rules, we set a good example.

Everyone wins.

^ This.

Most new members seem to be overlooking the concept of rules these days, though the older members are usually kind enough to point them in the right direction, which stops them from posting in the wrong section and so on again, a methid to stop them doing it would be nice, but it's easier said than done and, likely, impossible to implement.

They're new, as were we all, we all make mistakes, not that big a deal, part of being an older member is to be able to direct newer members and show them the right path.

Most of the threads posted in the wrong section by 'New members' are infact spam bots. Those that are genuine mistakes can be moved to appropriate place by a staff member.
