Just beated the game on DMD :D

This.

The constructive criticism is greatly appreciated (as opposed to saying, "it's just plain bad"). I agree that DMC on DmC is much too easy, and that there should be a patch called, "Dante Will Die", so that the players who really want to challenge themselves, who really want to hone their skills, can download it and really appreciate what DmC has to offer.

However, I'm fine with the checkpoints. Checkpoints that are few and far between lessen the experience in my opinion, and can be compensated by bringing back Yellow Souls (instead of just Gold) and having the difficulty so ramped up in that mode, that even the players who are used to DMC3 DMD, would be grateful for it.

Or just remove checkpoints from DMD, problem solved. Although "Dante Will Die" has an almost eerily awesome ring to it.

Checkpoints are fine in my book but at least leave them out of the supposed hardest difficulty. In previous DMC games you just had to deal with it and be more careful. Or die and try again and be even more careful.

At this point though, I think a DLC for two or three harder difficulties would be better.
EDIT: Free DLC that is.

i have to say, thats a horrible idea. if thats what you want just restart the mission instead of continuing when you die.

I have completed all secret missions and lost souls...:)
how many red orbs did you get for each lost soul. 50 like the demo or does it vary, whats the item stor e look like (what items are available) what are the prices for some things. and how many skill points do you need for skills (1 for all of them or does it vary) im only asking because im avoiding spoilers like a plague

You know, I totally just realized. NJ could easily just add extra 'perks' to the game to make it harder. Like, maybe have a perk that makes Gold Orbs into Yellow Orbs. Or, have a perk that disables DT.... or, have a perk that lowers Dante's damage.

Kind of defeats the purpose of perks, but it would satisfy the players that like challenges.

EDIT: They could also have a perk that allows players to ignore colour coded enemies. So, for example... you no longer need to use demon weapons for the red enemies, and you can use rebellion instead.
There are no limits to what they can do.

You are no true Devil Hunter!
you sure? cause i easily had 200+ hours on DMC4

EDIT: theres nothing like actually playing it though. if the problem is that you believe it isnt difficult enough then you surely shouldnt base that off streams cause how easy or difficult itis depends completly on the skill of the player.

i noticed so i edited my previous post as well to properly respond to your edits P:

Aw shucks. I acted too rashly on removing my edit and putting my edit in my new post because I thought you wouldn't see it!

You're right though. If I did get the game I'd more than likely restart the mission if I die but the game just doesn't appeal to me and I don't want to spend my hard earned money on it. And I'm not going to lie, it's because the characters are too different (it's a reboot so duh, but you get what I mean). I'm not opposed to change but there's such a thing as too much change. To me a game isn't just about the gameplay, the characters also play a huge part to me. Suffice to say, I don't like what I've seen in any of the characters so far. Naturally, I have nothing against those who do like the game and look forward to it though. I just point out the things I do for the sake of debate.

yea theres nothing wrong with change but theres nothing wrong with disliking certain changes either. i suppose its a difference of opinion cause idk if youve watched a lot of cutscenes but ive seen most of the cutscenes in the first half of the game via playthroughs and LOVED the interactions between the characters (dante is at times a potty mouth but whatevs hes supposed to be a punk i guess) and their conversations i mean they were more natural than some of the best acted movies in a lot of cases (i thought).

EDIT: while i dont mind swearing at all i would like to see dantes script to be cleaned up a bit just so that when he does swear/curse it holds more weight you know? but as i said hes supposed to be young so i have no problems with it in this installment.

You make a good point. I don't mind swearing either but no one likes (or at least I don't) punks who try to act cool and think they're cool by constantly swearing because they're not. I've seen a lot of cutscenes from the game and while he doesn't always swear he swears so much that, like you mentioned in your edit, it loses its purpose and meaning. He swears just because he likes the words most of the time, whereas DMC3 or DMC4 Dante would add in witty comments instead which is much more likeable to me.

I say we just wait and see.

Are any DMD playthroughs on YT? I watched Home Truths DMD on Own3dTV or whatever and it was painful to watch because the player sucked ass.

Call me arrogant, but watching some guy spam Hacker or the Arbiter is so ****ing irritating. Gregaman is fun to watch because he actually uses all of the available moves well. Most people I've seen just spam triangle.

Yeah, Gregaman is awesome. I watched Saeed (not sure if that's it, but I think he is Arabic) play the first two missions...literally had me yelling at my sceen.
