Could be, as rumours are circulating today that Final Fantasy XIII Versus has been canned and the team have now started work on this instead. I would post a thread on it but at work and posting this in between packing orders (click link below for the story).

Square Enix abandons Final Fantasy Versus XIII project

Have to see what Square Enix have to say about this when a statement is released.

that video is not in any way related to FFXV. it is just a tech demo.

they are almost definitely going to make FFXV eventually and there are rumors that they have been working on it for 4 years and it is going to be an open world game with a world larger and more detailed than Skyrim

Square Enix does not appear to have any intention of finishing FFVXIII and it would not be surprising if some of the resources were used for FFXV (it would be incredibly stupid to completely waste six years of work even if there is some reason why they can't finish the game).

I hope it’s not going to be the new Final Fantasy. I wish they would go for more grittier characters.
