Okay, I know I've said this rant MILLIONS of times, but I just need to vent
Unfortunately, Trish really has no place in DmC UNLESS she is a total slut like in 4. You can thank Ninja Theory's genius idea of making the deuteragonist of DmC a total Mary Sue who doesn't fit a DMC game and is only tolerable because Sage Mears was a good enough actor to make it work.
If you ask me, they should have either had Trish or Lady in the first DmC, I understand the idea of adding new characters to fill new roles. But the idea of adding new characters to take on the roles that were KEY ASPECTS of the old characters, is just overdoing it.
The thing I liked about Phineas was he was a role that was NEVER portrayed in a DMC game. He was like Obi-Wan, a friend to the protagonist's father, acting as a mentor.
Not to mention, Trish's character development would NEVER work in DmC, because New Dante would probably kill her the second he found out she's bad.

Why would you assume he'd kill Trish? Phineas has already taught him that not all demons deserve to die. He shows this understanding with by trusting Phineas, and keeping Lilith alive to save Kat. If it was still the beginning Dante he would've off Lilith right there.
Trish could very well be a good add in to DmC.
Also DMC has always been Mary Sue/Gary Stu since DMC1.
