Hypothethical question

If you read my thread, you'd probably know my answer xD Me, I don't care if it's either Dante. All's I see are the way they look and the look equally bad-posterior'd in their own ways. So if they threw in an origiDante costume, that'd be cool. Either way, I'm buying that game! Well, reviews first...and then buy. ;)

If we know nothing about the game except that it's a Devil May Cry with a new Dante, I believe it is then that we could give it a chance. Thus making the question a bit unfair, as we would be throwing opinions about something we know nothing about, except the title.

Right now, that we are getting closer and closer to what the game will turn out to be, the question is more fair, as everyone has some idea about the game - at least gameplay.

It isn't unfair, per say. Some opinions may be unfair (not saying they're wrong, either), but the question itself is not unfair in the slightest.

Right now it isn't.

I'm saying it would have been if it had been made when we knew nothing about DmC.

I firmly believe that even though some of us might have had a different attitude during that period if the usual Dante was to be the star, but that solely would be because of certain expectations they'd have. Same Dante means DMC5 along with many other factors.

As DmC would betray every one of those expectations as much as it could - excluding Dante's appearance/attitude - in the end the people who like what they see now, would have liked it, and people who see things they dislike, they'd see them anyway. Maybe more old-Dante fans would buy the game anyway, but that's all.

I guess from that point of view... I'm looking at it differently :p
 
Just to clarify the OP, I just meant a Dante that looked similar to what the regular Dante looks like in this time frame which would be similar To DMC3 and the reboot definition for this game still stands.

I dont mean for DMC2/4 Dante to popin and this to be in canon.
 
The damage has been done. I have been disrespected, Dante has been, DMC serie has.
And i have been presented a character that Tameem says is more cool than Dante. I guess i can't do anything than say "Tameem your right! He is cool" - right? At this point: I just hope DMC dies and Dante along with it so that the memory of DMC and Dante can't be ruined more than it has.

what I mean is that usually they aren't good when it
comes down to certain games remember the bionic commando one
and I thought bioshock infinite was a sequel
