How would you have improved the boss fights?

What are you gonna do with all that power?

If you ask me about DmC's boss fights, I will always say the same thing: they're fun as heck, but wicked easy at times. Especially Mundus' boss fight comes to mind. In the forum it was mentioned that we were supposed to fight him in both human and demon form. I think that would've been awesome, especially since in the flashbacks, you could see Mundus' human form killing Eva, and younger Dante seeing Mundus' human form in the doorway. I think it would've made things a lot more personal for Dante.

Of course, if they made Mundus' boss battle too epic, it would've overshadowed Vergil's boss battle and that's not good either.

I would love to hear what you guys think about this. Also, if DmC 2 was ever made, what kind of boss fights would you like to see?

More difficult boss fights in DmC.

Much more difficult boss fights in DmC2.

No cutscene interruptions.

Yeah, but my question is how would they become more difficult?

If there's something that annoys me, it's when developers think that making a boss fight difficult is by simply making them long. For instance when your attacks do little to no damage. That wouldn't make things difficult in a good way, for me at least. It would just annoy me.

make them moving. Not sitting in one place lumps of flesh, that are pounding at the ground. but really moving acting enemies with wide range of attacks

That's why I thought the Mundus boss fight was pretty dumb. He was supposed to be big and scary, instead he just appeared to be a giant, whiny kid that smacked around the place Dante was standing. If I was Mundus in that situation, I would've handled things differently.

Well, atleast 2 out of 6 of them were.
Hunter and Vergil. Thus being best bosses in game imo. Though hunter could use more agility

I think he was not only boring boss, but pretty unimpressive in looking. Compared to other bosses, his design was most shallow one

As much as I loved the creativity that went into Bob Barbas' fight, I have to agree with you here, I am not a fan of bosses that stay in their place. Therefore, I am a big fan of the Hunter (though he was wicked easy), Vergil and Hollow Vergil. It's why I prefer fighting human sized enemies. The bigger the enemy, the slower he is.

Of all bosses, The Hunter is sadly the one that glitches the most. I just fought him again today and in the middle of the fight, he just stopped moving and took it all from me. I just stopped attacking him until he finally moved his ass somewhere else. I want to win, but not like that.

I had same happened to me on Killer Face twice. And once camera gltiched on me on poison fight, but it never happened on Hunter :O I would prefer more creativity in bosses movement, so yeah im with you on hunter and vergil

Hunter- Make him swing his knife more like for a rapid attack. And when your far away he comes running atyou or throws his blade at you.

Poison- Make Poison slam her fist into the ground for a bit of acid o drop from the ceiling onto the platform your on. Also make her have spikes coming from her back that slam into the ground while fighting her.

Bob Barbas- Make him shoot lazers at you while sending those rays at you that are parry-able.

Mundus's Spawn- Get rid of the smaller arm weak point and have it so you just have to keep hacking away at him.

Mundus- Make Dante able to fly and fight him while in air and Mundus will flail his arms around to hit him which results in an air demon dodge or a parry. Then while inside of Mundus's giant body, you play as Vergil and fight the human sized Mundus with the same gameplay you have in VD.

Vergil- With Vergil, have him fight like he would in Vergil's Downfall with the Demon and Angel triggers. Also make it so he have layers of health like Poison where you have to take him down each bar and in between those bars is the cutscenes.

Mundus fight was poorly developed and it had a terrible pacing.

The whole stage is long thanks to countless cutscenes that keep being triggered after every 2 hits. Besides, it's basically Poison 2.0

It had the same feeling you had when facing her. The whole vomiting thing for example. Most of his attacks were slow and predictable.

Perhaps that's the problem with giant bosses. They're way too big, which makes them easier to be defeated. The design was also weak. It was Megatron form Transformers. I can't believe they didn't get sued for that design, lol.
