Hmmm, are there any boss fights that look this cool?

Is it just me that thinks Vergil is the most boring fight? It doesn't really have very much variation in it's moves, I remember thinking that fighting him was easier than fighting those ninja guys that teleport and block you.

Sorry man but this game has very bad boss fights. The design were just very bad. Even the final boss was pretty bad even though I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out how they screwed that up when you have DMC3 to work with since its pretty much the same two characters fighting.

I think the boss fights in DmC were good ones and each of them had their own thing going on. And they weren't too easy, I got my ass handed to me more than once, that is, if not using any items. Though, I still don't know how much harder they will get when proceeding the higher difficulty levels. There is a chance they are overwhelming to me.

Thats aside, I also am eagerly waiting for MGR:R so when I look at gameplay and trailers about it I get excited. Personally I think that the LQ robot dog is a sweet character design. And correct me if I'm wrong, but he is a boss Raiden encounters early on, isn't he? As such, I guess he isn't supposed to be the toughest nut to crack.

So using Demon Dodge and DT in a basic combination automatically means you're playing like a "punk"? I thought this game was supposed to give you a "play how you want to play" experience?
It was a joke. But since you brought it up i wrote that post because it reminded of this dude on youtube who played DMD by literrally standing around waiting for an attack he could Demon Dodge and would attack when the bonus was active and when it went away he would ressume his standing still and repeat the process. Anyways i dont try to impose my opinions on others or tell someone how they should play but such... "tactics" generally upset me. But to each his own i guess.

Just played the MGR Demo (it's out now in germany too, thanks for the rating system USK just one week later...) and honestly, I would've wished for a better introduction on how to parry, I mean I got it after dying a few times but still, and bosses having attacks that end in an unbreakable animation (the one where he puts you on ground and stabs you with the chainsaw) are the most stupid thing in bossfights ever, I hated it in Ninja Gaiden and I hated it in MGR.
I don't think that boss is anything special, the ones from the trailers look a million times better though.

Oh sorry, I forgot the true Metal Gear fan is not allowed to actually like Raiden's character growth from MGS2 to MGS4.

And what is this "all I got" crap now? I forgot the part were they scrapped their oncoming Metal Gear Solid games so Rising could be produced. Oh wait, that's right, they didn't.
Not even gonna argue about "mediocre hack and slash" here since you seem to be detainer of universal truth of video games quality. And by the way, is the team of Kojima productions who is responsible for the "absolutely awful" dialogue, the same ones from every other MGS, so you can keep your biased complains about it to yourself and gtfo.

It's just this need that people have to keep comparing two games that clearly have nothing in common besides being hack and slashers.
Rising isn't better than DmC. Thing is I know you stupid butthurt Devil May Cry fans are just giving Rising more attention because you see P* name attached to it and don't like the reboot. Raiden is still not a well liked character regardless of wht you think and I guarantee if the fans were asked to either get something on Gray Fox instead of Raiden then Gray Fox would win by a landslide. I'll throw Raiden a bone and admit he has a pretty fleshed out backstory but so does every Metal Gear character. It's just how Raiden's always been presented because he's the guy that no one wants to invite to the party because he made an awful first impression and he honestly just can't seem to find his own place in the world. Hell, Kojima pushed for a Gray Fox game but he's working on Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain and the lack of Kojima's involvement is pretty evident here. It doesn't live up to the Metal Gear standard and is a Metal Gear game in name alone from the looks of this bullshit.

And yes, it is the stupid fanatical Devil May Cry fans that are only supporting Rising for stupid bias reasons. If that's not true, then why the hell was Metal Gear Rising posted in a DmC: Devil May Cry section of a DEVIL MAY CRY site. Case in point.

This thread doesn't deserve it's place in here. It's not even about DMC.
How about I post a vid about another different game? It's basically the same discussion,

The only boss in the game that is enjoyable to fight is the final boss and only on son of sparda and up, otherwise he is too easy. It's a pretty wide and reasonable criticism to say the bosses in this game are just meh at best. MGR looks to have plenty that seem super fun and challenging to kill, shame DmC fell on it's face in that area, hope they learn from games like Bayonetta, MGR, and the original DMC games on how to make a challenging boss. They also need to learn how to make a boss battle more of a dramatic spectacle we wont forget so they should start taking notes from, well Bayonetta(Jubilaus!!!!!!) and the God of War series for that.
Ahh someone who has the same view on the Bayonetta bosses/enemies... amazing aren't they? I could see some really impressive boss fights implemented into a DmC game - multi-stage fights, MASSIVE bosses, more impressive designs... just a whole lot more WOW factor. Mundus should have been amazing, should have fought his human mode, his transformer mode (facepalm*) and then he decides to pull you into DEEP Limbo/hell and reveals his true self. Here's hoping for DmC 2 to pick up the slack :)

With the exception of the last boss which is worthy of any Devil May Cry, the others (while some going out in spectacular fashion) really turned into boss fights of just seeing the pattern the boss takes as he broadcast every move he makes before they even do it. And areas DmC can improve on as I see much more potential in this particular take on the series at this moment then the unorganized canon from the previous. I welcome the lack of styles because I never cared for them and it still introduces quite a mass variety while making it all flow alot more that isn't "dumbed down" but more comfortable. It's still a well refined combat system that leaves alot of room for experimentation and I love developing unorthodox techniques that no one usually thinks of. But the other issue with DmC is how the enemy combinations in the later parts of the game limit the possibilities the combat system is capable of. This combat system is one Devil May Cry should go with from now on but there are still room for improvements.

Personal hatred aside for the character of Raiden, Rising doesn't really introduce anything special at all and the uncomfortable fact I have to accept as a massive Metal Gear fan is that Rising is still a part of one of my favorite gaming franchises ever. I love it more than Devil May Cry. I fell in love with Metal Gear for Metal Gear reasons but I wouldn't say I'm going to dismiss a Cyborg Ninja game, I want Gray Fox. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Rising with Raiden either because when I first heard of it Kojima was on right on board the project and it was going to bridge the gap between Metal Gear 2 and 4. I trust Kojima more than P* because all they're known for is the borderline porn Bayonetta and other games that only reach the decent mark all the time. Hell, I enjoyed MadWorld but I'll admit it was more so for its comic book style visuals with this cool ultraviolent grindhouse feel. It just looked different but gameplay pushes up a mix bunch and I'll admit that. The fanatical DMC fans act like the reboot doesn't live up to the Devil May Cry (which it does) standard but Rising does not freaking live up to the Metal Gear standard.

Metal Gear was a series known for its memorable bosses and arguably some of the most interesting and unique boss fights in gaming history comes from the crazy mind of Kojima. What the hell does Rising do to that element when it just tosses out baddies that aren't even as interesting as previous bosses in the Metal Gear series and gives bosses that will be defeated by just hack and slashing your way at them and will be sometimes resolved through the awful decision of quick time events even. They've got to be kidding me. Doesn't look like it will hold the interesting or unique twist boss fights in the series was known for and if Kojima was really part of this game more than he is then you'd see sh!t you'd never ever seen before in a hack n slasher and I would be wanting to play that. Even if my most hated Metal Gear character was the star.

Yeah it's a symptom of this current generation of games where the majority of games these days think that if you make a Boss too difficult it will ruin the entire game. Bayonetta seems to be the exception to the rule with it's truly epic boss battles that just get more insane as you go. Bayonetta 2's first stage is suppose to be as crazy as the final fight in the first game which is just nuts and makes me so ****ed it's on the Wii U....WHY??? It's like Platinum are jest begging to sale less copies than the already poor selling Bayonetta 1!

I think it's very unique. It's the closest Hack'n'Slash game to DMC1 that I've played, in the sense that I can take out enemies quickly and efficiently.
The uniqueness to it comes from its blade mode. No other hack'n'slash game that I know of allows me to slide past three enemies and take them all out with one slash. There are problems in it, such as the camera, and the unskipable dialog... but overall it's a fun game. Especially for the playstyle I use in it. I love to just take the first opportunity for each enemy to take them out, and I actually stay away from the hack'n'slash part of it if I'm able to go into blade mode.

Despite comparing it to DMC1, it's way different than any DMC game, and any other Hack'n'Slash game I've played.

Are you kidding me? Yo, fake Metal Gear fan, GTFO.

To say this piece of crap lives up to the Metal Gear standard is a goddamn shame because Metal Gear is a series that has brought some of the most creative and interesting boss fights in gaming history.
...
I can go on but to I think I have every right to be upset with this stupid Rising game as all I got was some mediocre hack and slash and the dialogue in this scene right here was absolutely awful.

You sound just as dumb as some of the people who don't like DmC...seriously.

Metal Gear Rising is another "what-if" title for the franchise, like Ghost Babel, and is just a game to try something new, just like Metal Gear AC!D. There's a reason why it doesn't carry the "Solid" suffix, because it's not supposed to be part of the Solid series, hence "Rising." And hey, Kojima wanted to make a game where you played as the cyborg ninja and did all the crazy-awesome sh*t Raiden did in MGS4 - without the game developed the way it is, he certainly wouldn't have gotten what he had intended. You think you know more than the father of Metal Gear and why he made the decisions he made?

And just for kicks, look what Play Arts KAI made just for him...

You do know that without it being on the Wii U, it wouldn't be on anything, right? Bayonetta sold rather poorly, so no other company wanted to bother funding a sequel. Then, in comes Nintendo to take a chance and save the day.

Well that explains it then. I'm a little less "wtf" now lol

I thought the bosses were damn near easy myself, but they had visual appeal to them.

And that's more then I can say for something as shallow as a robot wolf with a chainsaw on its tail.-_-
