To be honest, I'm not surprised. Giving how RE has been constantly shat on, revived successfully, then tarnished again because Capcom fooled people into gaining their trust, I'm absolutely amazed he didn't leave a lot sooner.

It's getting hard to care about this franchise anymore. Especially giving how many times Capcom goes back to Raccoon City. It has probably been 5,632,891 times by now.

I'm obviously exaggerating. But it's annoying.
