Has Devil May Cry spoiled us in the hackn'slash genre?

It's like watching children fight over which stupid toy can shoot the bigger lazers when really both are small.

But to answer the topic, for me DMC barely made any standards for me. It just made me realize that dodging was important in hack n slash games and button mashing won't always work. DMC's only standard was that first players don't know sh!t about dodging or how to do more then one combo and then when they do, then at least they have some style to their craft. I've just been playing Bayo and other H&S who set higher standards then DMC's played out bollocks. It's a joke now compared to say Bayo and NG series which came out around the same time DMC3 has and is still a higher standard to me then DMC ever really was.
