"Hardcore"?

Okayy..Got it. Never thought that it was actually the "game" sending Dino Down rather than the player himself doing that move in the Secret Trailer.

And Choco, you do make a very valid point.

Thanks buddies :-)

Im pretty sure this wont happen in DmC... usually developers reveal some really awesome stuff in the trailers, but then have it cut for the final game (here's looking at you, Mirror's Edge) Expect to see some cutbacks....

Personally, I'm amazed that there is still stuff to learn even after the game is beaten. However, I know I'm gonna get annoyed because I prefer all the cards to be put out on the table instead of me trying to learn new stuff after I've become accustomed to what I already have, especially since that'll be alot to learn to begin with.

Its always been that way in DMC. Unless you farm for red orbs.

Not really, the mechanics are given to you right from the get- go, you just never realize it because the action's too fast for you to notice, unless you're talking about getting enough orbs to buy new moves? And how do you "farm" red orbs?

But if this game has an entire moveset (not in the shop/time state) to learn after the game is beaten, I'm not going to waste my time. That to me is just extra work to get people to keep playing the game.

I don't think there is going to be new stuff in the shop/time state after you beat the game. Thats if they keep it like the original dmc where you could purchase everything by farming. (farming is when you find a room of demons that respawn after you leave and come back into the room and you collect red orbs for as long as you want)

I think since every weapon can be upgraded, its going to take more than one walkthough the fully upgrade every weapon, hence new abilities and attacks to be unlocked.

edit: and if you can reach higher places on the second walkthrough with all your skills still intact you might in fact find new things, maybe even weapons, and then you would have to learn a new weapon which is totally fine with me.

Suffice to say the DMC sereis can do without another '2'. DMC can be played for hardcore prestige but you don't have to have lightning reflexes to get through each of them with a fair amount of 'S' ranks to your name. I mean, I'm dispraxic but I have completed all DMCs on all difficulties and have got S and SS ranks on level completion where possible. DMC is supposed to be tough and it is a tough series overall but anyone who claims it is only for hardcore gamers is blowing a lot of smoke as far as I'm concerned.^_^

I think dmc only got the hardcore title after dmc3 with all the crazy combo videos. DMC and Bayonetta make you feel like your getting better every time you play it and the more you play it the crazier the combos become, which anyone could eventually reach with time and practice. But that doesn't mean you have to put in hundreds of hours just to beat the game on the hardest difficulty. I like the way i play DMC and thats all i need. Getting SSS ranks isn't as hard as it was when i first played and i hardly ever jump cancel, and when i do JC, its either helm breaker twice, Beowulf kick (which is the easiest imo) or rain storm. And as far as i can tell, it doesn't really make much of a difference in my style unless i use it at different times.

Ah, I see. If that's the case, then it'll be worth seeing what new stuff I could find.

Fixed it for ya.

I don't have a source for that, but you can see more than once they reaching what appears to be the roof of the stage, and you can clearly see the camera instantly changing for an up view and Dante going to the ground with that punch.

I understand not liking automatic stuff, but I personally think it would be a pretty good way to balance out the angel grapple.

You can see in the TGS Extended trailer as well as in The Secret trailer the move. Well, it can be a different move, now that I see them both together.

So count me in for the worry train, how the hell are they going to ballance the angel grapple?

I think with this 'depth' and 'hardcore'ness, we all have to make our own play styles. Has anyone put restrictions on themselves or made the game harder for themselves just for the challenge? I sure have! In DMC 4, for example, I made myself use only Trickster with Rebellion and Ebony and Ivory (if Agni and Rudra were there, I'd be crying with joy). And maaaan was that tough.
Or in Dark Souls...I'd choose only light armor and switch my shield for something else to teach myself how to roll instead of block xD
Me, I won't be using that grapple in DmC much...unless I get frustrated. I don't like gamebreaking combos.

I'll try to implement it in different ways instead of just launch pull repeat, mainly because I can't see launch pull being fun at all.

Who sad that move happens automatically? Where's the source on that?
Probably the same bastard who told me E&I were re-loadable. The guys who don't like the game are making up stuff, to further support their hypocritical reasoning of not liking the game.

That's why people should only trust the facts instead of listening to what other people say.

What the **** are you talking about? I hate how in this forum people only dumbly support or dumbly hate the game. I'm in love with this game, can't wait to play it, have a ****ing poster of it in my wall and I'm planning on getting Dante's tattoo on my back, if that's hating, I don't know what the hell is to love a game.

The auto drop down move would be GOOD for the gameplay, would prevent people from abusing the Angel Grapple. You wanna stay in the air? LEARN HOW TO JUMP CANCEL.
