Getting mad over Dante cursing huh?

ZeroLove has a smoking Dante in their avatar from some of the early DmC concept art. Should I claim Zerolove is mocking the old Dante and make it a goal to personally attack every one of their positions? Oh wait that's YOU!

I'm glad you have enough sense to know that it is not the reason I have that sig and avatar, and that you aren't attacking me for that reason. ^^

I never attacked your sig or TGS2010 Dante, I said that it was ridiculous to call him "re-poo" Dante.

Now I've had enough of this **** for a night.

I actually like both your sig and your avatar. I think it's relatively cool.

My thanks. ^^
It is one of the things I miss about the new Dante. I liked that he was smoking in the first trailer, but sadly they took that away from him. I can understand why, since hordes of raging fans started attacking NT and Tameem because of it (amongst other things), but I was hoping they would stick to it.

There will always be people who find something to complain about. Wether it is his hair, his cursing, his sword or whatever... If people wants to complain about something, they will find something to complain about. The best you can do about it is to simply ignore them. Calling people out on it will only give them the attention they so desperately are seeking.

I never said you did, I was merely replying to him that I am glad he didn't attack me because of my avatar and sig. My reply was never about you.

OK getting serious here I absolutely hate the cussing in DmC. My reason its unnecessary cussing doesn't bother me heck one of my favorite movies is Pulp Fiction. Anyone who's seen it will agree there is tons of cussing in the movie but the writing is so good that it doesn't matter

He might or he might not. We won't know until there actually is a DMC5.

Which I doubt there will be IF this game sells well.

And you know...I've ignored the ants complaints for too long! That's the reason why I made this thread is to wonder why Dante cussing is a big deal. Same goes for irrelevant reasons to hate the game like "slow gameplay".

The thread still served as flamebait. I've already reported it, so it is now up to the mods to deem it worth of keeping it open or closing it. And just to let you know, I'm a supporter of DmC, yet I don't approve of threads like this one. You and nightrunner really threw a bomb at skeptics tonight for no reason.

Me too.

I feel as if it's just way too forced. Shadow the Hedgehog forced.

When I'm playing a game like Borderlands, and I hear my character say "CRITICAL, B****" every once in awhile when I land a critical hit, it catches me off-guard. But it's funny to me since it was sorta relevant at that time. And he doesn't do it often.

I love cussing though. I do it alot myself and as long a game is marked M for Mature (18+), then every character can throw curses around all they want, imo. Even if unnecessary. It is NEVER necessary to cuss, but it is a good way to express frustration or to provoke others which is what the new Dante appears to be doing. It's nothing too explicit anyways, it's just a few f*cks, and everyone likes a good f*ck, so I don't see the problem other than people being prudes.

Its not like a hate cussing its just when its just thrown in especially in scenes like with Dante and the Succubus. (Like really there was no better dialog you could have written than that?)

I don't really care about cussing in general, I care about the context behind the cussing.

-CUSSSING WOOOOO WOW SO EDGY- a lot of people feel this way about the cussing in this game and you know what? That's completely valid of you to be turned off by it (even if you play hypocrite). Cool.

Why am I not bothered by it though?
Here we have a foul, ugly demon that smells like she died wayyyy after her expiration date and then came back only to bathe herself in poop... because that's what she freaking looks like to me. Then she starts insulting Dante (well ok he called her a poopoo first) and he actually tries to mock her in a fun way... and it fails to bump back and forth with her. Well, to hell with that idea then.

The rest of it pretty much has to do how crappy his life is and he has every right to cuss at the things that put him through hell (quite literally) and I'm cool with that because he's actually decent enough to not cuss at the people who are nice or at least not posing a threat to his life (Phineas).

Of course this is just for the first ten stages (and half of 13), it could be worse at the end especially for characters like Mundus.

Let's be honest here, at this point there isn't such things as "skeptic" anymore. People had a demo, tons of previews and some early reviews to decide whether or not they gonna get this game so i'm not buying that skeptic stuff. It just sounds to me like a disguise used to bash the game.

I would also like to add that i really don't understand why some stay on this board when they obviosuly don't like the game and they don't plan to purchase it, really. You can say what you want to justify that but at the end of the day it doesn't make any sense. I personnally think that the Ninja Gaiden games are the best when it comes to Hack n Slash and i don't think i have to remind anyone here how disappointing NG3 was ,yet you don't see me going on NG3 dedicated boards trying to "explain" to the (few)people who like it why the previous games were better or why this change or that other one were for the worst. I didn't buy the game, i just looked for something more to my liking to play. End of story. If they ever make another NG that i like, great. If not well, too bad. I'll just move on with my life.

Some of you want to be "mature" and let everyone "express their opinions" and that's great maybe you gonna get a medal for that or something but i think there are a many hypocrites among those so called "skeptics" and they deserve to be called out on their BS because they are annoying. There is so much drama surrounding the release of every sequel/reboot/spinoff/whatever that i really think that it would probably be easier to change the damn constitution. Jesus.

Shadow the Hedgehog wasn't that bad was it? I remember him saying "Damn" when you die n' stuff but not much else.

Also Borderlands 1/2 is a great example of cursing done right. Even in the Borderland 2 Mr Torgue DLC where cursing is all over it, but it's surrounded in witty comments and characters that fit that behaviour really well making it feel well executed imo. In DmC I feel it just doesn't fit the points they use it. I honestly wonder who the writer was that made the "F' you" exchange and thought their job was well done for that day.

I'm not really much into the cussing. I don't love it, but I'm not at all annoyed nor dislike it since most of the time it was actually funny, sometimes quite serious, and sometimes defines someone's personality (Succubus). There aren't constant cussing like a lot of other people say (it mostly happens when something serious is gonna on). They lie saying Dante said F U 10 times during that Succubus cutscene, and I've barely found him saying it through out 10 missions I've seen so far. From other characters, the only (or few) forced cussing I've seen was from Lilith with "This city is your Bitch, and so am I". But really though I've seen way more unnecessary cussing like

The F U back and forth in DmC didn't last that long.

this "pro" and "anti" stuff has to stop why does tc keep making these "anti" complaint threads? btw i dont recall people saying this "pro" and "anti" stuff during pre dmc4 it was just you like nero or you didnt. people picking sides and taking it to serious we are all fans of the franchise right in some shape or form this is a reboot not a competiting game series.
