That's wrong. Card collection was based on exchanging and gathering it. Lootboxes has literally 0 value once you buy them ingame.Unfortunately the ea representative who sayd this was right... Most people enjoy this loot boxes, and it existed in game, toys industry for many years, like when I was little and I buyed card of dragon ball, Pokémon, football ecc... That was like loot boxes since you buy a pack but didn't know what was inside, that was fun for me...
Today many people liked the loot boxes and they should realize that it's they'r problem
I know people That have spent more than 1000 euro on fifa loot box, and continue blame the publisher, but it's not their fault if such people decide to spend so much money on a game... it's almost like a disease, they can't stop buying...This. I always, ALWAYS hear people only blaming the publishers but conveniently, they forget the tiny little detail that companies keep putting that lootbox crap in their games cause people buy them.
I'm tired of gamers never taking their part of responsibilities. Want a change? Start bringing it about with your wallet. By not opening it for microtransaction bull.
Yes but you also buy pack that you don't know what was inside... When I was little I probably spent more than 1000 euro un dragon ball card ecc, because I didn't know what the hell could have been in those pack, and I never finished one album there was always some card missing...That's wrong. I was gathering packs of MK cards. But I simply exchanged duplicates that I didn't need. But if you buy lootbox and it has duplicate item, it's literally is pointless to you + you can't do anything to do with it. Digital game is something you can play, but duplicate items is simply wasted money.Yes but you also buy pack that you don't know what was inside... This look a bit like loot box to me, only that like you sayd you can exchange it and sell it because they had value
But if you think about it Every digital things that you buy had 0 value once you buy it... If I buy a digital game it has 0 value since I can't sell it and I cannot exchange it
Didn't duplicate give you game money to exchange whit other things at least I remember this in fifa and battlefront 2.... In apex there are no duplicates, every time you open a box it's always something different....I was gathering packs of MK cards. But I simply exchanged duplicates that I didn't need. compensation is so low, so it doesn't even make sense tbh. Also let's not forget 300 hours or so to open Darth Vader.Didn't duplicate give you game money to exchange whit other things at least I remember this in fifa and battlefront 2.... What you find in loot boxes is also something you can play whit, it's not uselles for people who buy it
It didn't happen to me, I played few days, few hours a day to open it...compensation is so low, so it doesn't even make sense tbh. Also let's not forget 300 hours or so to open Darth Vader.
They changed after huge ****storm. Which wouldn't have happened if they didn't let their greed to get best of them.It didn't happen to me, I played few days, few hours a day to open it...
Also they changed this whit the new update
I think you are right in some part, but people with children should not put their child in front of a television and let them play fortnite, or give them money to loot box, that their fault in a wayWhile it's true gamers need to be more disciplined, loot boxes are designed to be manipulative. Some people are predisposed to developing an addiction and loot boxes tap in those same mechanisms in the brain that can also lead to addiction. Same goes for the Battle Pass system in games like Fortnite and Black Ops 4. Not to mention, our brains aren't fully developed until around age 25. Specifically our ability to make thought out decisions is still in development until then. A lot of kids are getting hooked on loot boxes/battle passes. I wonder what kind of affect it is having on their brains?
Adults have less of an excuse.
Sure, loot boxes are not super different from buying packs of trading cards or those boxes that contain one random figure/keychain. But the big difference is physical items still have some worth. You can trade or sell the ones you don't want. It would be one thing if games implemented a type of in game trading. For instance, being able to list the items you want and designate which ones are willing to give up. People can then offer trades which you can accept or decline. It wouldn't be a perfect system, and loot boxes would still be stupid and predatory, but it would be less stupid.
tl;dr
loot boxes are dumb
In some Call of Duty games, duplicates are exchanged for more points/credits. Modern Warfare Remastered has/had the right idea.Didn't duplicate give you game money to exchange whit other things at least I remember this in fifa and battlefront 2.... I agree that lootboxes and similar schemes are predatory, but that's because of the publisher. They should know better than to charge crazy amounts for lootboxes or similar "mechanics." I don't think people mind microtrasactions, or similar ideas. As long as developers or publishers start using their brains, and charge good prices for the microtrasactions, people would not overreact or go guns blazing (if you know what I mean), or be accepting to buying things from the developer/publisher store. The in-game menus are their digital stores.This. I always, ALWAYS hear people only blaming the publishers but conveniently, they forget the tiny little detail that companies keep putting that lootbox crap in their games cause people buy them.

I agree with bolded. I'll come back to this post tomorrow morning, but right now I am sleepy. I just wanted to respond to the microtransaction comment above. But I'll expand on your response. While it's true gamers need to be more disciplined, loot boxes are designed to be manipulative. And what's funny about Apex, is that it plays EXACTLY like Borderlands when it comes to opening those weapon pods. From what little I played of Apex it plays like a Borderlands game with Battle Royale thrown in.Also apex legend another ea game also use loot boxes but only for cosmetic purpose, the most fun things like new character and badge can be unlocked easy by playing
