I'm sorry to hear that, that people are giving up on the original series after one bad game and saying let's just call it quits and start over.

I think that is an extreme exaggeration, I wont forget the old series (apart from DMC2) but I will look forward to hopefully more of the rebooted universe and if not then the old series will continue. We have the HD collection and we also have haters who'll remind us until we die! But seriously, I hope for more DmC but wouldn't mind a DMC5 (if it had Dante) but I will DEFINITELY never forget the amazingness of DMC1

If only the HD collection would have been made a little better, I mean: no more 4:3 pre-rendered cutscenes... the games are great but they didn't put any work on remastering the games.
Same with RE4 HD .

This actually saddened me quite a bit. It was all the good cutscenes that ended up looking like ass, too

I know. I just meant that there are alot of people feel that way, I get the sence that their additude is one of ether good ridance or I won't be missing it regarding the original and they feel that way mostly because of DMC4.

Well, they're not representative of everyone either.
There are a lot of people who loooove this series, but don't hang out on internet forums :/ We can't just say "everyone thinks this, or feel this way" just because there's a small group who sits on forums and talks about it. We are sort of a minority in the grander scheme of things when it comes to fanbases.

So let's call it quits? If that didn't happen with DMC2 why with 4?
