I gotta say no on that one.
DmC is in my opinion the best Devil May Cry I've seen, hands down...but the original series still has a place in my heart. So I'm gonna say no on that.
But I do worry that DMC5 will be ass like DMC4, but if Capcom is learning how to actually make a good story from NT, then It might have hope, though I doubt it quite highly. If they do make DMC5, it better not be like that abomination of a DMC game called DMC4, or DMC2.
How the hell can you even say that? DMC4's Combat system was the only combat system near perfection to me. flawless style switching on dante gave you so many options and the combat was beyond fluent. DmC's combat is clunky and sloppy. go watch chaserthewolf's speed comparison to see what I'm talking about. DmC is nothing like ANY Devil May Cry games. it has no lock on,no styles,no options. it basically a dumbed down combat-system for casual players. I don't mind if they increase the fan base. but they do it at the cost of the depth of the combat system which is what DMC 3&4 were all about. the replay value was so high because of all the different combinations you could do and how hard it was to master it.
tl;dr DmC is nothing like ANY DMC's.
