I never really get how it's gameplay is so good to many people.Without it's QTEs its nothing but a castlevania: lament of innocence rip off.I'm not saying it's that bad though.It's pretty great for a "typical" hack n' slash.

i like GOW's story and graphics but as you said GOW's combat is all about QTE and i can't believe it when some people say that GOW has better combat than DMC !!!!

the thing wth GoW folks isn't that the gameplay is deep or fast. It's just plain brutal and fun I remember having more fun playing a GoW game then i had playing a DMC game. It's like an american muscle car not very sensible but sure as hell a lot funner to drive around a track.
it's very popular because it's a damn good game and the people who follow it are proof of that. The fanbase has only really grown through each game.
it's not better then DMC but it's good, certainly better then how you make it out to be. Like i said though it's not deep like DMC but the combat is more brutal and i tend to enjoy it more, and i guess so do the people who buy it.

the brutality of the gameplay is actually alot to do with the story. I think that's what NT aims for with dante. Kratos fights so savagely because that's how the plot presents him that's the very defining point of his character and it shows in his gameplay.
don't know about the GoW fanbase though but if their ignorant then what's the DMC fanbase? Every fanbase is going to have a majority of a$$es because their fanboys

don't worry i'm a moderate fan:troll: i just enjoyed the HD collection and GoWIII it's no wonder they sold GoW is a good franchise, or series. My first fanbase was the DMC fanbase considering i started by playing DMC2 at night ah good memories

Dudes let's not bash GOW series ( And yeah, I do enjoy those games a lot :lol: ) or any other series since it doesn't bring any glory to DmC fanbase if people start hating for no reason, yeah GOW combat is more about showing off (except maybe on hard) but the main question is, is it fun to play? i like brutalities in GoW but to me they are just some visuals , i enjoy them in my first play through but that's it .
for me to play a game more that once it needs to have either a very very very good story ( alan wake ) or a really fun game play ( DMC , Bayonetta , Uncharted , ... )
GoW I&II had good stories and i actually finish them twice but GoW III was kinda meh ... game play was good but it wasn't so great to convince me to finish it more than once
with that being said I'm actually looking forward to GoW:A , i hope the story is as good as the first game
of course everything i said are MY OPINION and they are NOT FACTS

i never found GOW THAT immersive and addicting. i mean yeah it's fun but only if your into face value gameplay...(not hating on GOW) i do "dislike" GOW fanboys you can't enjoy anything realted to fighting or hack n slash without them claiming it to be a GOW ripoff.

I've never played a GOW game. (Mostly cause my mom doesn't like games of death and gore) I've seen abit of GOW and it does look fun, but I've allways been use to playing DMC and Kh, that I never had tiime for it. Still don't. I'm sure the story is interesting and with the whole "I climbs from hell to kill demons" thing, but I'll probablly never get to play it.

and as for GOW i'v played 1 and 2 and its very awesome the story is epic and the gameplay isnt bad at all ......and theres something i dont get.....HOW THE HELL COULD YOU CONCENTRATE ON A GAME WHILE THERES A STRIPPER RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!!!.....:w00t::troll:
