DmC video reviews

I'd recommend watching the second one.

Sadly, these people aren't credible. Especially the second one.

I like some of his videos on issues and when he interviews certain people. As far as his reviews go, I'm not okay with them. The one you pointed out is misleading from the start. I even read a comment that asked "Is that song really in the game?".

Who I deem as credible is myself, professional journalists (people paid to play games), and my gamer family and friends.

I've never been steered wrong.

It's not a good review if it doesn't insult DmC. But if I find a review that insults the classic series, then it's considered bullsh!t and vice versa.

I don't think we're taking it that way. I mean, even at the end of Max's review, he and his buddy were insulting DmC. I care not for that type of stuff. Insulting a game is just that. Now tricking people into thinking a game has content that isn't really in it, is definitely something to care about.

YAY, we have a new anti-dmc troll. *YAWN*
Picard: I played a pirated copy of DmC and played it without any upgrades on a keyboard for like five minutes and now I'm someone people are supposed to take seriously when I post my opinion on gameplay mechanics and combat engine depth.

Go play your boring first person shooters and leave us action game fans be.

Here's my counter to those biased reviews, I call them biased because they waste time on criticizing aspects that have nothing to do with the game or show a gross misunderstanding of whats actually going on in DmC. IF you notice none of them can actually describe an action game that does it better than DmC, or discuss the actual mechanics or inputs and why they are better. I love how they also fail to mention how much better the camera is than most action games, and repeat the parroted point about lock on causing slight issues, when it really doesn't, and actually much less than a game with clunky lock on like MGR or DMC 4. The game does have lock on and its better than every other action game I've played.

omg look at all this: DmC is so slow.... its unbelievable, its so hard to switch targets or use my weapons to string together combos.... :/

Wow Picard, you really pirated a game and have the audacity to come in here claiming that five minutes with no upgrades gives you credibility?

The upgrades add to your weapon moveset.

I understand you though, you lost in a different thread and created a "ragequit" one. Typical.

I guess this also explains the Nero vs DmC Vergil thread and any other thread involving your input.

A discreditable source posting discreditable things.

So from now on when we mention DmC and you respond we're going to be like

You brought this on yourself.

I think Angry Joe hit the point better then the other one. The other one was incredibly bias beyond belief. DMC4 was a complete pile of crap in terms of Douchete's character. They turned him into a laughing stock of action characters and, honestly, a little fruity. (Not saying being gay is bad or anything)

Angry Joe is right...to a point. he characters in DmC are a bit unlikeable...to a fan of DMC. What Angry Joe so stupidly didn't seem to consider is that EVERY video game character has a fanbase, and as such they will never be unlikable unless created as such.

I don't want to buy something if I don't know what I'm buying, especially if I suspect I'm going to throw it into trash tomorrow, but I also don't want to play demos as uninstall portion of the game is done among the last, if not the last, and what is provided with the demo is just unfinished version which has propensity for uninstalling Windows files when removing the game - I had to reinstall Windows once because of that, and I'm not interested in repeating it. Especially since I have never intended to play DmC after seeing videos of gameplay, until some here started talking about how the game is "great" and that I should try it out, which is the sole reason I even bothered downloading it. BTW, I have just uninstalled the game, if it interests you, but only after playing it long enough to get a general feel of it.

So... gameplay is sluggish - including combat, game gives away ratings like cookies, first boss fight in the game is repetitive, Ebony and Ivory do so much damage that they may well not have been included in the game, platforming sections are both boring and repetitive, grapple jumping is too slow, it is too easy to stay in the air for long periods of time, Tyrants were pathetic, as were all enemies fought up to that point... and that is about as far as I got. Story does seem to be a-ok, but that's it.

You played it for 5 minutes...your opinion is void.

So basically the first three missions. Wow, dude. -_-

Even I actually played through the whole game before returning my copy. I may not like Donte or DmC, but at least I wasn't so deep in expectations to just play through two missions and automatically claim it sucks.

But I stand by my own beliefs on this; DmC isn't better then DMC3, but it is better then the other DMC games in terms of story, character, and gameplay. But to be fair DmC's story isn't that good anyway, but compared to the past series, DmC is practically Shakespearean in comparison. Story was a fail in DMC1-4 along with character development being almost non-existent.

Also, you say controls are sluggish, but that just proves you didn't bother to actually PLAY with the game's combos.

But it's your choice so whatevs.

I did not want to play through more since my copy wasn't legal. I basically used it instead of demo version, since there are no game shops in the area where I live.

It's alright, his pos PC probably can't handle it anyway. And I doubt he even plays DMC games for gameplay (using a keyboard and saying DMC3 combat is slow, lol) look at the links in his sig, its just cheesy pop songs, he misses me kyrie Nero love story. :(.
