DmC Theories

there are demons everywhere in every dmc game lol
and really the only thing we know about the story is the city is alive, and dante has an angel side.
punk movement doesn't have to do with the story, it just has to do with dante's appearance.
When Tameem talked about Limbo or the demon city, he talked about politicians. "demonic bankers" etc. It's in a interview.

So the demon city is kinda the goverment. That the punks (NT Dante and his group) are rebelling against.

We know that the story is influenced by They Live. That the demons have made a illusion so that the humans don't know of their existance.

"There is demons everywhere in every corners of society" - that's NT's Dante's words. That's what i meant.

So i got a idea of the story:
NT Dante fighting demons, and along the way he meets possibly the demon that killed his mother. He destroys the demons, and the illusion is broken.

well that is a well developed idea, but that is only your opinion of what the story MIGHT be.

But that's assuming that NT is still pulling background info from Capcom's Dante. We don't know know if there is a Sparda, Eva, And Vergil in NT's Dante's life that has been killed or taken from him. (Or do we? I haven't seen anything saying so.)

I think it would be an interesting plot twist to have Vergil in the background throughout the whole game causing events to happen or stopping things that Dante doesn't know is happening by his actions..or something. (Wishful thinking from a Vergil fan)

You are right but part of the things i said is a fact.

There is a illusion on humans
Dante is fighting to break that illusion along with mysterious girl.
Dante is targeted by the police

Which proves that we know a bit about the story. Don't you agree?

just enough to make assumptions and speculations :p i agree with you, we know a little bit of background info.

Well i don't think it's bad assumptions (they are good assumptions), and NT is supposedly good at story telling methods not actually making original stories.

So they could take a generic story and make it great through their methods.

oh definitely, i wasn't trying to say they were bad assumptions. i like seeing what people come up with, and they are pretty interesting. i just wished at this point they would give us a little more background info, so we can at least get an idea of what the plot of the game will be about.

I don't think there is an illusion, I think the "real world" stuff is more of a metaphor to the media and the government manipulating people, through subliminar messages in ads for example "Gluttony is good", "Consume. Submit. Obey.". Living in a world yet being clueless about it is represented by Limbo, the other dimension that only a few are able to see how things really are (the messages previously said only appeared on Limbo).

I know it's a metaphor.

But i am thinking of DmC world, and most of the humans are cleary living in a world unaware of demons being among them.

It's hard to be 100% original. I'm actually looking forward to seeing how all these elements we're discussing fit into the plot. I can't decide if NT is withholding giving us an official storyline because they don't want to insult our intelligence (ie. watching the trailers should be enough to understand) or they really don't know themselves yet.

Either way it's directly or indirectly a brilliant marketing tactic. So many publishers create these in-depth websites for games telling you everything all up front. Here it's like NT is giving you as little info as possible so you're more curious and more likely to buy the game so see what's going on....Or they could just be lazy and I'm giving them false credit.

Well i agree completely with you. It's hard to be original. I know this because my ideas for stories often come from things i have seen, so i have to filter things often.

For example i don't want to borrow the idea of "half X and half Y" for main character because i have seen that so many times.

And you may be right about the marketing tactic - it's brilliant. But you could also be wrong.
But they have revealed quite a bit about DmC's story. We just feel that it's so little because it's a alternative version of DMC's story.

Does anybody have an idea about what part the god might play? And in the trailer the voice says "Dont f with a god." so does anyone think there could be multiple gods since he doesnt say dont f with god?

The demons probably look at themself as gods.

Thats possible but since there are angels its also possible that gods are there to make sure what the demons do doesnt get to out of hand or just be observers that dont really do anything unless provoked.

On a side note your Jack Sparrow thing is pure awesomeness CoolDemon.

Oh i forgot about angels being part of story. That makes it hard to guess.
And thanks for sig, i stole the animation from someone else's signature.

But the text below the animation is originally mine :p

I'm pretty sure it's Dante saying "You don't F*ck with a god." implying "Don't mess with me because I'm stronger then you."

Its a different voice its not Dante its sounds deeper some people have thought that it sounded like Arkham from DMC3 and i dont think Dante would call himself a god considering the fact that he's kinda at the mercy of the city trying to survive its random changes with help from his lady friend Pat/Kat/Dep whatever her name is.
