DmC or DMC5?

It's worth giving it a shot, sure, but do you feel like DmC is a waste of time? In some ways, it is to me. Capcom could've gave us what we wanted, y'know, a real DMC5. But instead, they hit a speed bump, and went an alternate route... Who asked for a reboot anyways? :/ I know DmC is no longer classified as a reboot, but now, a DMC taking place in a parallel world. It wasn't like DMC's story had no hope left in it for future installments. Capcom just introduced Nero. Also, DMC2 couldn't have screwed the series up that badly. Capcom wanted fans to forget DMC2 ever existed, implying that DMC2 could no longer get in the way of DMC's story. I remember last year when Capcom said they'd make a DMC custom tailored to what fans want. Yet we got DmC instead of DMC5... No company trolls harder than Capcom. Now, the question is...

If you could have DmC scrapped for DMC5, would you? To be honest, I would. Let me know what you think.

Yeah, i would, too, but i don't think capcom would make a worth while sequel anymore, i've lost faith in them a few times and I don't think they know when to do what and when not to.

I mean, DMC is the game I got into. Not DmC. So to see it take its place is kinda... eh.

Sadly, that may be true... But you know, it's always good to be optimistic, so don't lose all hope yet. ^^

lol woops jumped the gun there

um well, if i had it my way, i would of stuck with dmc5 because there were too many holes, but trying to bring the whole story into full circle in one game will ultimately leave out a good story, it seems like the story would mainly be flash backs and what not.
But i am ok with DmC though

Im still shattered beetween, this new reboot and original series. In one case I like stories in Alternate Universe ( cause from that I write ones too) and im still loyal to original universe, even i tough that DMC 4 have some plotholes what devs never ceased from exist, so my voice in disscusion for now is neutral

^^ If DmC was never announced, and a poll was taken. I'm sure the mass majority would of wanted Devil May Cry 5 to compete the story. Or just what happened to Dante in Hell.
But as of now, i'm speaking for myself, i've been literally stalking information about DmC and all i can say is everytime i see something new, i'm very impressed, and i wouldn't mind going through 4 more games, with good story telling and familiar combat. I mean what other hack and slash game is there anyways, with the lure of DMC

Same. :)

Oh, same here. DmC will be a good pass time, but DMC5 would be a real buffet y'know, lol. And it's not like Capcom couldn't have introduced new things in a sequel... To be honest, all of the new elements that are apparent in DmC could've been in a sequel for DMC4. That way, the formula wouldn't get old.

Yea, thats what i'm really feeling about DmC, the formula. I love the world he's in, i love how they replaced a style switch with the stances. Its all very good. But since there is no story yet, its making me anxious. And if it was DMC5, i would have a better feeling of what to expect. Mainly Dante's attitude...... i take it back. Dante's attitude has changed in every game to ever come out, and that's what bothered me the most about dmc. there was never any consistency. And i hope NT, with their story telling can make a complete game with a beginning middle and end.

Everything looks very lively and colorful. I like the style actually. ^^ Doesn't matter if the tone of the world Dante is in is dark or not, considering that this is a DMC in a parallel universe. Old Dante's still a very likable badass though, and he's number one on my video game character list. :P

Edit: Oh, I read it wrong. XD

Well, maybe they DID finish the series with DMC4. They left a whole lot of questions unanswered, but maybe they would rather leave it at that and then started on making DmC instead.

I'd go with DMC5 without a doubt.

A reboot should not have even been thought of until they finished the original series IMO.

I vote DmC.Hear me out!

While I love love love DMC (it's my favorite series!) and I think DmC looks lackluster at best it should still get finished and released. Fans of the original series aren't going anyway; they will still love DMC, but the new game opens the door to potential new fans that may have never heard of or tried DMC before. With DmC the fanbase has a chance to grow more than DMC5 would because let's face it, it's easier to get into a series that acts as a reboot or alternate universe than if you started with the 5th game in the series.

I also think Capcom and NT should just stick to their guns and finish the thing since trying new things opens up the doors for other new things. Maybe NT or Capcom had ideas for DmC that aren't going to make it into the final game, but are still good ideas that they can use for future games.

I would stick with DmC.

The question really should be this: What would DMC5 look like? Given we've had one true sequel to DMC in DMC2, and it was not met with rave reviews, I'm not sure it would be worth the money in rental fees for me. We know Dante's past in the original series from DMC3. We kind of know his future from DMC2. We know he travels to slay demons from DMC4. Unless the series follows Nero (yuck) or takes a radically different direction, DMC5 would just be another 2 or 4.

I like the idea of a radically different direction.

Ok than let me ask you this.

Are you ok with this game replacing the old series?

And the old series never getting any closure due to the plotholes and unexplained storyline elements?

I do not mind Capcom doing a reboot to bring in new fans.

But what I do mind is the fact that they did it to early. The original series still has not been finished and may not ever be finished if Capcom decides that THIS is the new Devil May Cry and discards the old one in favor of this one.

THAT is what I do not want to see.

I do not mind seeing this reboot succeed.

But if its at the cost of losing the old series than I really do not like it.

If DMC5 gets made at some point, then I do not mind the reboot happening now. However, if DMC5 never gets made then screw the reboot. XD

This was never going to happen. Capcom would've just move on with the series and on the next instalment it would've just started another story, unresolved conflicts or otherwise. Anyway, you all know what Ruben said, that Capcom thought that they made it clear who Nero is and were surprised at the fans not getting it, therefore, the answers are in the game, provably just staring you in the face but trying too hard to find hidden meanings to realize the obvious.

So what you say is that Nero's origins already are in the game?
If I had the game, I would play it through again to see if I could spot it... because I haven't seen any proof of it. Just alot of speculation.
