I'm not slapping in the face the cultures, but nothing really looks American - the city, the people...

DMC1 and DMC4 are in European Islands.

DMC3 doesn't really look like an American city...

As for DMC 3, like I said I have seen places like it.

Anyway you don't explore much of the city in 3(you walk down the street, into a bar then into a strip club then down another street and strait into the tower), so the European that you see could be just one section of an American place.

there are some part's in america that look like another country! i agree, but where i was born in berlin, look's alot diffrent from cty's around here.

i haven't seen place's in america that look like another countryunless it was in china town, or little italy.
place's like that.

and of course you've seen place's like dmc3, it look's like new york!

Places look different, but Capcom wasn't aiming for places to look different. It's either Europe or America.

^Well it says that Dante is American in the game manual and capcom states he is American in several press conferences and whatnot.

There is no acctual evidence that he is living in Eurpoe in any of the games so far.

altho, i do wish to back track my word's, there are some coastline's in the u.s that look italyish.
