here a preview:
Having finally played DmC I can finally stop worrying about whether it’s going to be any good. It is. I always liked teen Dante, the weird gothic city setting and I’m hot for Ninja Theory (after the excellent and criminally underrated Enslaved) but there was something about early videos that worried me – something about the combat that didn’t seem to have the right snap. Swords were swinging, bit of monsters were coming off but it didn’t click.

Now, having played it, it’s put all my fears to rest. Things were sliced up and mostly on purpose. The first few button stabs feel welcomingly familiar as you tap and time swords attacks, reading the animation to vary and string combos together. Or batter square to pepper things with bullets. That still doesn’t really do anything but it always looks good.

Hey man, you created two threads on this topic.

on topic, people wont be satisfied with the gameplay until they play it for themselves.

This article was positive and good. Unlike the biased article of IGN (6 reasons why NT will revialtise) and Gameradar (8 reasons why NT will revialtise). Lol what will be next? 10 reasons?

Well done Leon Hurley.
Unlike IGN or Gamesradar clowns you told your opinion and experience with game without saying anything negative about DMC fans or telling WHY this game will be good.

true but i thought the article was better then the ign one. it touched abit on gameplay on the second page i think and went a little, ver little, in depth.

Sorry about the double thread tho99ugh my internet it beyond webow slow and i couldn't tell if the first thread was made or not

are you crazy? This article has very little bias.
Article is written by someone who likes NT.
Who says "I like NT" with a line.
Tells you his experience. How he felt.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Even IGN and Gamesradar articles titles are screaming "BIASED". Their points are all about telling you why you should play DmC.
I'll say it again WELL DONE Leon Hurley for that unbiased article.

That's a really bad attempt at sarcasm btw...

He did mention a little bit of negativity when he said that the "escape" part felt sort of slow and it could have been done faster(?) Otherwise, the guy seems to like the gameplay.... But this article tells little to nothing to the general public. If you are going to just keep praising the gameplay there is no way we can learn anything from just that. Hell, even I can come up with a crazy amount of stuff on how previous DMCs gameplay was good AND bad, that way I can learn how to decide what the bad stuff is and see how to get around it (or just straight out decide the gameplay is bad). There HAS to be some stuff wrong with the gameplay I will very much like to hear about.

That's constructive critism. The escape "challenge" is just that a "challenge". Once you learn from mistakes you can run through it with ease.

Thing is why i say this article wasn't biased is that it didn't tell you that you to buy game or what to think. Most of the things he wrote was about how he thought about the game.
He didn't tell you what to decide.
He just gave his opinion.

And i will darn say it again, The escape part looks darn dumb. Attempt at a "OMG the world is after me".

Well, giving your opinion is what it means to be "bias" isn't it? lol

But I understand what you mean. It's not like shoving the game down your throat without having even played it before, in other words, BSing all the stuff they said to make the game sound good.

I don't know. The guy reported his experience in a cool way. He didn't say any negative thing to DMC fans who don't support DmC or tell readers "If you don't buy it your losing out!".
It's one thing to have a opinion but another to claim it's right one. I didn't feel this guy was trying to say his opinion was right.

But look at the two articles by IGN and Games radar. Ill save you trouble and repeat the titles of them:

GAMESRADAR
DmC Devil May Cry - 8 reasons Ninja Theory’s reboot was needed, and might be amazing

IGN
6 Reasons why Ninja theory will revialtilze DMC

IGN and GamesRadar has alraedy made up their mind.

Well, yeah. I totally agree. Compared to those two, this is a much better improvement. I, for one, don't believe that rebooting the series themselves was needed in any way. Capcom could have easily done a "reboot" of sorts without rebooting. Like making DMC5 take place during the events of Vergil and Dante before DMC3 or Sparda. They could have started fresh in many ways and made a lot of newcomers happy with gameplay and story. But I just take them as they come. If they felt that they wanted a reboot, then so be it. I will still play the game and decide if it is good or not on my own because I love the series.

To be honest, the games which are too hyped always tends to fail because fans expects so much from the game and when the game fails to meet their expectation, it fails big time!

I like this article. It gets his opinion across and nothing more. I will agree, IGN tries to force their views on people.

this article is good but everyone has there own thing to chek out.....and im going to get the game one way or the other and ill see for myself....

A better interview then the one I saw a while ago on IGN that said that this game "would be faster then DMC4."

LOL Well... that isn't too hard to do storywise and level design. But gameplay... ahem... that still needs to be seen.

Obviously the people who wrote that just played through the game once on Easy (Human) Mode and saw all that was bad about it without even second guessing or looking too much into the gameplay.

Folks, I'm curious, how would one perform the Stinger without a lock-on button? If the lock-on button isn't present and is instead replaced by an auto-dodge button (which I'm assuming is something like Bayonettas) then how will the game tell the difference between You pressing forward and Y to Stinger and simply pressing forward and Y to walk towards your enemy whilst beginning to swing? Even if there is a 'Closest enemy prioritizes auto-lock-on' feature, how will the game then differentiate between the two actions?

LOL.

One thing I must say is that whenever I see Dante doing the stinger he moves back and then forth a bit. So I'm guessing the stinger is performed by pressing back > forward > attack button, just like how Nero had that air sword slash and the ground slash where he moved back and forth really fast.
