DmC gameplay Breakdown

Huh.
I swear, information about this game either makes me rage or taps me on the shoulder and tries to offer me diamonds on a golden pedestal.
Actually looks like it could be a right laugh to play, colour me cautiously optimistic.

I just hope this information will shed some new light on the people who are still against the fence with some of the decisions NT have made. From what i can understand is each weapon acquired will have to alternate versions (demon/angelic) so if there are 3 new weapons, there will be 9 weapons and so forth. Styles have been replaced with demon/angelic forms. Most of what i read was the Styles are already incorporated in each form, so switching through Forms would be easier on the fly (being that they are on the shoulder buttons).
DMC 4 was and still is the most complexed combat system to master, and for me, its just too much on my plate. I would generally switch to 3 to 4 different styles and i never used royal guard (shoot first, block later). My point is these new changes will probably make my experience better with a more innovative control system.
Also weapons are now on the D-pad. Which i also prefer over toggling through 3 weapons (DMC3 was the best at this with only two)

this may maybe a good combat system(i dont know no body dose) but devil may cry's system was unique and fun and complex, every time something new about this game comes out its less devil may cry and more NT(again it could turn out to be a good combat system but its not devil may cry's styles combat system).
we already lost dantes looks(dont care that much as long as it fits dantes personality) we lost his personalty and attitude(i care A LOT about that), and the angel demon thing(WTF), and demons running the world secretly thing(i guess no sparda because he defeated the demon's and closed hells gates, basically the hole back story is gone)and the alternative realty stuff(dante can see demon's when he shifts or something),i cant see any thing of devil may cry in this game, and i dont buy the whole its a reboot thing and that hes still half demon by that logic alot of thing's are in fact devil may cry and we didnt even know it (like supernatural and sam is dante because he fights demons and theres demon blood in him), now tell whats devil may cry about this besides the name

Looking cool thanks for the link.It was a nice read yet again :)

Dunno if this was rhetorical or not but, its a fact that this black and white haired mute is Dante. Also, the combat seems the same just reversed style system and weapons. Umm... he does have demon blood in him and thats about all i can really tell at this point. The only thing i can see that truely matters ( and that might be revealed in the game) is the mood. I dont see any kind of mood setting in DmC. 1-3 (not 4) had a RE feel to them.(not RE 4-5 the originals) Mostly the angst was from the camera being locked in compromising angles, but it was spooky!
Thats the only thing i'm mostly concerned about.

Well, one of the more recent interviews associated the word "horror" with DmC, and that brings up my hopes because DMC is and will always be the only game that literally makes me feel unsafe playing it.

EDIT: DMC1, I meant. Should've specified.

Is it just me or does every screenshot still doesn't look properly?

I mean, the games graphics still looks like... alpha stages graphics. That kind of graphics a released game never have, you know?

I agree.

I still think its pretty obvious that DMC4 has better graphics then this game.

Hopefully NT will keep improving the graphics and gameplay before its release.

my thoughts exactly i thought it was just me, every body keeps saying the graphic's look good(DmC i mean) i dont see like that at all

Maybe those graphics are on a very advanced computer or something?Cause i sense a crappy PC like mine would make it look like DMC 4 if not worse.

i was editing and my PC froze so forget anything beyond cause.

NT used the Unreal engine for DmC. The original Unreal engine was built for PC gaming, but it's archaic and old. It maxes out at 25FPS, what most current hardware could handle back when Unreal was very popular. DMC 3 and DMC 4 both used graphics engines that ran about 35-40FPS, a significant difference. If NT built upon the Unreal engine to made it better, great. Otherwise we're gonna be stuck with a slower framerate which can greatly effect performance and gameplay.

The OP's link was a great article. A lot of interesting stuff to learn. While I certainly like the original DMC series character cast and story (as convoluted as it is) the new DmC was quoted by NT as being an entirely self contained story and character taking place outside the entire scope of the original DMC series. (There's another thread here or a link to an interview with NT that states such - gotta try and find it). This makes DmC a lttle easier to swallow, but I would, in all honesty, prefer continuing the original series and finding out more about Nero and such then pursue this project.

ToCool74 you really compare this to DMC4?
.
Why the hell not?

It IS supposed to be a DMC game right?

And it IS supposed to be reinventing the series as a whole.

Of course people are going to compare it to the last Canon DMC game released which is DMC4.
