He is dissapointed in his discovery.

So, people were criticizing the game because they assumed it would have no depth at all compared to the old DMC games, and now they're criticizing it because it will be too complicated to let go of the triggers if you want to shoot?

Alright.

while i do like the sound of that i cant help but wonder how youll switch between different angel and demon weapons if you need to hold the buttons to use them
You'll use the d-pad to switch between weapons.

I assume it will be something like:

Up: regular weapon (rebellion)
Left: angel weapon (osiris)
Right: demon weapon (arbiter)
Down: guns (ebony & ivory)

So you could have like 3 of each so you'd have access to 9 different weapons on the fly.

No. Now it's R1 for Angel and L1 for devil. Not holding any of them is normal...I think.

No, that's not what I meant.

Yes, you access Angel and Demon Stances by holding one of the triggers, but you won't be limited to Rebellion, Osiris and Arbiter, you can change which weapon will be activated by holding the trigger with the d-pad.

Up chooses the base weapon (rebellion) the triggers change it to Arbiter or Osiris. The other buttons on the d-pad change the other base weapons as well. so ebony and ivory probably have angel and demon power-ups like Rebellion.

I thought so as well, but Tameem said you would be able to get new Angel and Demon weapons, so it may actually be exactly the opposite, Rebellion is fixed and you only change you angel and demon weapons...

Who knows, only the final version of the game will be able to clear it out for us.

You know what would be a badass way to reveal Vergil on E3? You make a regular cinematic trailer introducing him, and then when people go to the Capcom booth to play the DmC demo, it would be in the Bloody Palace with a playable Vergil. That would be SOOOOOOOOOOO awesome.

The not using guns in either stance thing could be a little tricky...but maybe that just means you need to have good eyes and a good idea of what you're doing. I'd say the closest thing to that little--ahem--problem would be DMC 4 and its three weapons system. How many times did I think I was going to use Ebony and Ivory just to have Pandora's crossbow staring me in the face, and me wondering why Gilgamesh was throwing those red swords around?

Just wait till people hear of that one! Capcom-Unity will be on lockdown by next week!

actually i believe you can use E&I while within the triggers. I remember in one of the trailers it showed dante using a charge shot, it hard to tell if he was in demon stance or not though. Other then that unless they want to make raising storm, the spinning and shooting, [_]+O, which would be weird, then they might break gun moves into stances.

Hmmm...that would make a lot more sense than "You can't use guns in either stance."

Besides, it would destroy the Hack n' Shoot thing DMC had going on.

What would personally disappoint me in the shooting, which dmc4 did pretty well, is if you can only hold the shoot button and not tap, like DMC3. So far turns out that's becoming the case.

Look at the recent gameplay trailers:
The shooting button is identical with the grapple hook-button. So no, there won't be any shooting with Ebony and Ivory in any of the non-human Stances.

whomp whomp :|. Though i imagine with a bit of practice the controls could come naturally. After all the only time iv'e used the guns in the DMCs were mainly to stay i the air, long range,or keep an enemy in the air longer.

I don't see the problem: all you have to do to shoot is letting go of the Stance-button. That can't be hard.

I guess this means that guns don't have their own demon and angel forms. While it's distracting (at first) to have to let go of the triggers in order to use the guns, it makes sense in a roundabout way. I never use guns, and I would prefer a long-distance whip-grab shooting at them. Feels more "honorable" in my opinion. Which is why I've always liked the idea of throwing your sword. You do more damage with attacks like that anyway. In the end, it really doesn't make a difference to me.

I would probably take guns off altogether if they ever gave me the option. I only really found them necessary like in situations where I would have to use them, like in the second phase of fighting Arkham with Vergil. You shoot while Vergil attacks him up close because he can't be hurt.

The only reason I can think of to see the 'no guns on stances' thing as a bad thing for the game is the fact that grapple is X/Square.

Why? Seriously, why?

Why not just regular LB = Devil Trigger, LT + LB = Grapple, RT + LB = Grapple, and let the guns with specific Angelic and Demonic skill sets.

But I guess for the general audience it would be harder to press both LT and LB at the same time than LT + X. It does makes sense I guess...

i'm just confused on how the player will be able to do certain moves like rain storm and the rising rain storm that we've seen.

Ebony and ivory is the perfect weapon to demonstrate angel and demon stances since it's black and white...
I bet they have their own stances moves like possibly using the right levers?

perhaps some form of elaborate combo where you can link a demon attack, to an ebony attack AKA demon ebony. or an angel attack that leads to an ivory attack AKA angelic ivory

I think there will be only 2 new weapons but each of them having a demonic and angelic power. and Two other gun too. but thats just my assumption and how i would make dmc much more easier. I have to admit that dmc2 had the best weapons of all the games, although his swords didn't really change too much, it was cool looking non the less, and sub machine guns are beast.

i was thinking that too because there is no physical lock on button. maybe pressing launcher + gun will make you rise on the ground and together in the air will send you down. which i would much rather prefer because it was way, and i mean way to easy to jump cancel and rain storm in previous games.(which i love to do, but i need more of a challenge now)

I don't see the problem: all you have to do to shoot is letting go of the Stance-button. That can't be hard.

Its literally that easy. Whoever thinks pressing box is hard is probably playing dmc4 on easy automatic.
And since you have to let go of the button it actually forces you to open up your combo window so...... yea

NOOOOOOO!! i love E&B
gunslinger is my most favorite style of all!! The power the guns possess in gunslinger mode is godly and can stop any enemy attack. DMC2 did it the best imo because you had to move yourself into position and then POW one deadly accurate bullet to the face. (think back at the elevator stage in dmc2 where every demon got their wig spit courtesy of E&I...i could play that stage all day long)
