Chapter 2, pg 14

Finally Dante spoke, "I don't know how to say this without making this sound like a joke, but this is far from a joke, we wouldn't have risked our lives coming here if what I'm about to say wasn't the truth" Dante said.

"What ever you say I will believe you brother, so just tell me what it is that's bothering you" Vergil replied.

"Do you know what happened to our mother and father?" Dante asked.

"I do, but I don't want to talk about it. Where's this going?" said Vergil.

"Well Whatever you were told, by whoever looked after you, about our parents, lied. And don't believe one word of it because the truth is so obscene that they wanted to hide it from us, let me tell you about our mother first" said Dante.

I just wanna explain about Dante's cockiness.

after he realises that he can handle stuff without Toni's help he gets cocky, but after experience the cockiness deteriorates and Dante is more serious and still badass.

Chapter 2, pg 14 continued

"Okay, what happened to our real mum?" Vergil asked.

"It sickens me to say, but she was murdered" Dante said.

"Murdered? Really? How terrible" Vergil said, he nearly burst into tears but maintained a strong front.

"That's the sad truth brother, but her death had something to do with our father and us" Dante replied, trying to make everything clear.

"What was he doing to get her killed?" Vergil asked, he was so close to Dante to hear what he had to say.

"Um, well I guess it was what he did for a job" Dante said.

"That being?" Vergil said.

At that point Dante did have the anxiety to leap onto the table and scream at the top of his voice, "HE SLEW DEVILS, DEEP DOWN IN THE DARKEST, MOST GRUESOME FIERY PITS OF THE ETERNALLY FLAMING DEPTHS OF HELL".

However, this being a normal human conversation so it would seem, Dante did not say that.

"Okay, well our father wasn't human" Dante said truthfully.

"And you expect me to believe that?" Vergil laughed.

"As my brother yes, why do you think I am here huh? To seek your money? Ask you what colour would go best in my apartment's kitchen? NO" Dante replied, fierce fully.

"Sorry brother, I didn't mean to upset you" Vergil said.

"Never mind, I guess you don't want to know the truth" Dante said, he got up and walked away.

"WAIT" Vergil screamed, and Dante turned around.

Chapter 2, pg 15

"What about our father?" Vergil said.

Dante went back over to Vergil and sat again.

"Our father isn't human, in fact far from it. His name was Sparda and..." Dante started to say, but was interrupted by an abrupt shout out from his brother.

"WAIT" Vergil bellowed out.

"Sparda, I read a book, I mean, I have a book, all about Sparda and his victory against evil, brother that's just a story" Vergil replied.

"No, it's true, he is our father" Dante said.

"If you are certain then I should trust you" Vergil said.

"But, you doubt me" Dante said.

Chapter 2, pg 15 continued

Vergil tried to look like he believed his brother, except his look came across as to what he was really thinking. Vergil assumed that his brother was mistaken, and that this was all just a crazy hunch.

At this point Toni re-entered the room.

"Vergil, watch this" Toni said to Vergil directly.

Vergil admired Toni's sword, and Toni moved closer to Dante.

"What are you doing?" Vergil said confused.

"I am proving that your father was Sparda, I am proving you have strong demon blood" Toni explained.

Dante understood what Toni was getting at, so he edged closer to the sword.

Toni lunged the sword into Dante's stomach quite forcefully, Vergil's facial expression changed to complete shock.

Toni pulled the sword out of Dante, and Dante was unscathed.

Chapter 2, pg 16

"Is this for real?" Vergil said.

"Look for yourself. Your brother, he is still alive and standing. Impossible for any normal human" Toni replied.

"Can't be? It was a story right?" Vergil asked.

"Wrong. It was a short story on demon history. I know which book you refer to yes" Toni said, he had read them all.

"A book by a great warrior who stood up against his own kind, and, with the help of the humans, sent the evil back to whence it came" Toni said.

"Author name?" Vergil asked.

"There was none so it was believed. But I know who wrote the book. A knight for an old Lord, so it is said. The book was found unfinished next to his body" Toni said.

"Interesting, you do know of the book" Vergil said.

"Of course. I only know the knight's first name and nothing more. It was said that the book was going to be destroyed. The church didn't look kindly onto the mass demon outbreaks. They wanted them covered up, fools" Toni said.

"I never came across a name. How do you know all this?" Vergil said astonished at Toni's vast knowledge.

"Uncovered truths from the places in where these vile things occurred" Toni replied.

"So these demons. I expect that's why you are here?" Vergil said.

"Correct. For now they are no challenge, but soon more will come and we will need a stronger army" Toni said.

"You want more people to fight?" Dante said.

"Why not? They did for Sparda once before, why not again for us?" Toni said.

"I guess, but you are talking years before anything serious" Dante said.

"One thing experience has taught me Dante and Vergil. Is to expect the worst from anything. That way you won't be disappointed with the outcome" Toni said.

"What has that got to do with any of this?" Vergil said.

"I would have thought a well educated being as yourself could figure out the message there. It means that we can never be sure when the worst is going to happen, so if it does, be ready" Toni replied.

"I guess that is a good point" Vergil said.

"I'll leave you two to talk" Toni said, and he left the room.

"Guess we're in no major hurry?" Dante said.

"How would I know?" Vergil said.

"Yeah, you're right, we should catch up, nice place you got here" Dante said, admiring the pad.

"Cheers brother, I had to work pretty hard to get all this" Vergil replied. It was nice that the twins were making light conversation.

Chapter 2, pg 18

"What do you do?" Vergil asked.

"I, run my own shop" Dante replied. And of course by using words like "I" and "My" and "Own" Dante sounded like he was making himself out to be successful too.

"Oh, a shop, a large one?" Vergil said.

"Well, medium-sized you know?" Dante said.

"And it sells what sort of stuff?" said Vergil.

"Antiques. Posh fine weaponry and such" said Dante.

"Sounds pretty nice. Got a place?" asked Vergil.

"Yeah, it's just an apartment actually, but the areas nice and peaceful, no trouble at all" Dante replied.
