Well, we haven't seen Arius's demon form yet, right? I guess he just has demon powers, thats all.

As you already know, Dante went to the underworld to beat Argosax while Lucia stayed back on Earth. After Dante left Arius resurrected and gained some of Argosax's power(which changed his appearance into more demonic style). While Dante was beating Argosax, Lucia was beating Arius and that's it.
