Dante's character in a sequel

I see him struggling to maintain order in... the Order.

He'll probably try to change it to a straight up demon-hunting business, but his new "employees" will probably resent him because of Vergil and will want to remain in the shadows, not fight demons face to face.

So, Dante has to either train them, or hire more demon hunters (maybe Lucia?).

I have no idea where the story will lead. The only hint is where @D0NN1E described his ideas for the sequel... a sequel that will most likely never get made.

Man I hope that he comes back with a more professional demon hunter look akin to DMC2 Dante.

And him having a shop and maybe paying homage to the original Series by having him go by the alias of Tony Redgrave to remain under the raider from Mundus's followers only to be found out later.

I'd also like to see a new take on the Nelo Angelo thing with the new Vergil and the bitter struggle between brothers fleshed out even more in the next game.

It's officially "Nero" Angelo now, according to Donnie; anyway, Dante would have to deal with his employees first, or leave to start his own freelance business (he has no way of getting an office yet, unless he uses the Order's) by traveling all around the city/country and whatnot.

I actually want Dante to be more like a loner or at least how he left off from DmC. He just realized that he released a whole bunch of demons on to the human world and naturally that's not something to suddenly make a party or get cocky about considering people are dying on your watch.

For personality, I'd want Dante to be troubled about his life, but not enough to quit. he'd still be with his quips and he'd still be his rebellious self, but he won't be as crazy as classic Dante. More calm and cool compared to the first game.

As for his clothes I don't want him to suddenly be wearing the latest trends of expensive leather coats for no reason. For me, I'd want something akin to John Constantine.

The jacket would be a more a darker red and the tie black. It'd be a look that's a bit more professional but not so much that it's over the top fashionesta. Since this is more contemporary, I figured something more working class. His hair for me would actually be more like Jeanne's from the first Bayonetta without the pigtail and cut shorter then how it was at the end of DmC.

I don't know about a DMC2-like outfit since that seems a bit excessive of leather while roaming a city. Then again I doubt he'll be a people person. Plus where would he get the money for such clothes?

I would assume he would have earned enough money to at least be able to buy himself a outfit.

After all the original Dante was not exactly rolling in dough by anymeans.

Or maybe 1 of the people he eventually saves from demons was a tailor and owed him a favor lol.

"Hey, I saved you from being ripped to shreds. Now make me a versace coat."

Or or, maybe the guy OFFERS to make him a new coat.

It doesn't have to be EXACTLY like the DMC2 outfit, only akin to it.

You know, professional and stylish.

We had a game with him being unorganized and edgy, now I think it would be great to have a bit of character progression by having him as a more seasoned demon hunter with a new look.

Nah, something more Demonhunteruish.

This is what I have for Dante in my theoretical sequel. It's still "man-on-the-street" but way less disheveled, has more of private investigator look to him this time. And yes, canonically, there is underpants. The idea is that he wouldn't get a whole new wardrobe, but he would certainly look a little less like a bum he flew out of trailer in a hurry :p I've still gotta add some more straps for hiding his shotgun, and for items and stuff. Sorta like you mentioned, it's the idea of actually making it look like he doesn't just pull everything out of his butt. Some pack and pockets need to be put in.

The Devil Trigger is now progress, and i acts like his others, where it physically changes him, and in this it's his coat creating most of his demonic form, tightening and enclosing aroud his body.

For those wondering "Why is he smoking?" Intense stress, smoking and drinking helps calm him. Sure it's a vice, but it's not just because it looks cool :p

He would have to be a more proactive individual since the world is in more dire straits so he's actively hunting down demons and actively trying to gain people's trust.

TWOxACROSS's concept of Dante's outfit remind of Kingdom Hearts/RWBY for some reason. Its pretty sweet tho.
