Dante have got his power and actually killed Vergil so why even set up this poll? Vergil is gone and he got hiss ass kicked... I liked Vergil and he is cool but he got defeated...
 
Wow, I cant believe that people ACTUALLY CHOSE Vergil. This isnt like those "What If?" Versus threads, this battle has already been decided......IN GAME!
 
As much as I like Vergil, I actually, for once, have to side with Esura here, this battle has already been decided FOUR times in the DMC series and Dante came out on top, so unfortunatly, Dante it is.
 
Capcom made it that Dante won! If Vergil actually started to try then Dante would get pwned! The story is obviously going to good not bad.

Vergil lost in a fair fight vs Dante 2 times in a row. He challenged and lost on fair ground. Even if Capcom let him win it still means he is stronger then Vergil and Vergil defeated Dante in there first go around on the top of the tower, it clearly shows Vergil actually trying so that could easily be turned around. DMC isn't real, and w/e the story says then that's how it goes its that simple. Dante was stronger then Vergil and it will remain that way whether any of us like it or not. Whether its a story or not, one of them has to be better then the other and Dante proved his self twice. If Vergil actually started trying he wouldve beaten Dante? Look back on there last fight in DMC3 and DMC1, you can clearly see who is trying and who wasn't.

The twins are equally powerful, but the story is by the good guy's part, Dante, obviously.

About the poll, I think there should be an option about a draw or equally matched too.
 
Where does it ever state that they are equal in power? If that was the case then it would've ended alot different in DMC3 then Dante just out classing Vergil and forcing him to take a knee. Dante is the one who is following Sparda's footsteps, Vergil is seen as nothing but the evil twin brother that misunderstood everything that Sparda was about. The only time they were equal in power is their 2nd face off in DMC3 and that is the only time. After that Dante grown is strength and Lady put the extra boost into Dante and Vergil was defeated. Its easy to say he was defeated because Capcom said so but that's not how it should be looked at because you can say the same thing in DMC4 with Dante beating Nero. Its funny because Dante was calm the whole entire last fight in DMC3 and DMC1 but you see nothing but Vergil struggle with defeat. Vergil even admitted to being defeated and being shocked. The biggest proof of this all is Dante beat him twice in there series, this should say enough and put it to rest. They are not equal.
 
Before Vergil awakened Dante's DT ontop of Temen-Ni-Gru, he was stronger. So all you have just said is that you have only considered things in the game, and not what is stated outside of the game. Both twins are equal in strength. Vergil is a BOSS in the game, and you HAVE to win as Dante to advance. Just because you have to win, and do, does not mean he is weaker than Dante. Play the fight, and you can die a couple of times. It is an equal match, nuff said.

And the only reason he is looked down on is due to how he is shown in the games. Always shown as the weak one trying to get power. Vergil defo beat the hell out of Dante on Temen-Ni-Gru, and he had the perfect chance to actually kill Dante. He didn't take it, and instead he awakened his DT and helped him. Why exactly would he do that? I think that shows a lot of care for his brother. To have been able to kill his enemy, and knowing that he'll probably never get a good chance to do that again. They were rivals because Vergil seeked power, and Dante stopped him because he saw what Vergil was doing as wrong. Vergil's intentions are never truly revealed, Vergil was THE only character to rival Dante, before Arkham and the others came. So in all fairness, he is equal in strength. Not to mention he is a son of Sparda. The same strength lies in his blood, as it does in Dante's. Twins, half demon and half human. Equal.
