Dante & Nero. How do they hold their sword on their back?!

The crazy demon

Metal Gear Vindicare.
If the characters can shoot thousands of shots using their demonic energy, they could use it to keep inanimate objects in their back.

AceofSpades

Lord of the Void
Okay in all seriousness, your talking about powerful characters.
The swords stay on their backs just as Marvel's Thor is able to pick up Mjollnir when very few others can.
Even better is the same reason Sesshomaru was able to pickup & Wields the demon Tokijin.
And how Bayonetta summons & commands the creatures that she calls.
And why at first Ichigo's sword could not cut Kenpachi Zaraki.
It's shear will.
Dante & Nero's will is enough to provide dominance over the wield.
The powerful aura keeps the swords on their backs & shear will to wield them as they were nothing.

3:27 Kenpachi Zaraki explains why Ichigo's sword cannot cut him.
Yeah I'd agree with that. There so powerful it just happens
And thank you for having a video with battle ignition in it
And my theme on the precipe of defeat
And urahara's them too

You are not in control
Well, from a complete lore point of view...physical holsters. But in the games you don't see them because it would be kind of weird to portray those holsters on your main character from a design perspective.

As usual, DmC ties up the lose ends of the classic series. Rebellion is stored in his Nephilim Tattoo on his back, and only appears in Limbo.
