Capcom confirmed sales figures for DmC

i could careless how much the game sold since my favorite/only games i like from the DMC series is DMC3 and DmC

but since DmC broke the milli mark, i guess i'll celebrate with a 12 pack and kick some BP ass
I'd rather celebrate with a Yoohoo.

And I do care a little. The fact that it sold even by that much gives me a little bit of hope for a sequel... on a portable... where it can save development costs. And maybe this time have DMC3 controls.

The person who made that petition and those supporting it, are crazy people. Loco.
66 people supported it, and here is the "letter":
WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:
Get Ninja Theory’s DmC: Devil May Cry pulled off the shelves.
Dear Mr. Obama: As a consumer to the Video Game Industry there is one Video Game that has caused a lot of controversy over the past few month’s.
The name of the game is DmC: Devil May Cry made by Ninja Theory and Capcom. A majority of gamer’s are aggravated that this game has changed so much from it’s past predecessors and the game actually insults the consumers in-game.
We, as consumers did not want nor need this reboot and we believe it violates our rights to have a choice between the original’s or the reboot. This game is violating our rights as a consumer and we believe it should be pulled off shelves from game stores due to it’s insulting nature and the fact that it violates our rights.
Please Mr. Obama, look into your heart and make the decision that will please us Gamers.
How do i know they are crazy beyond crazyness?

1) They contacted OBama to save them. 1.1 - OBama was hyped because he was first black president, turns out he's a total prick just like other politicans, 1.2 If Obama cared about people alot, he shouldnt have to deal with bullshit trivial **** like this.

This petition is a trivial thing that gaming douchebags (not journalists) like to expose to create more **** for more viewers on their site.
The first source that reported on this seems to be THIS site, and one can ask "Why is this site exposing this trivial stupid thing?", i mean if sending a loco letter to a president to stop a game from being made is such a stupid thing to do, isnt reporting on trivial and stupid things also stupid?
I mean if you report every "****" in the internet - wouldnt you at end of day clogg the toilet?
Point being, the person reporting this "pettition" had an agenda with this. And the supposed site that i think first reported this seems to have a agenda:

The stench of entitlement wafting off the games community these days is disgusting. By most accounts DmC: Devil May Cry is a fantastic game with few flaws. The only complaints thus far have been the framerate, which critics and players have said doesn't really affect the gameplay, and Dante's hair. Given that so called fans were complaining about Dante's hair long before release, I'm inclined to believe it has more to do with that than any technical issues, real or imagined.

If you view yourself as a journalist then you should realize that by calling people "entitled" you come off as nothing more than a douchebag who is simply ranting. For one...your patronizing gamers. Not everyone is at fault, only 66 CRAZY out of probably 500K+ original DMC fans, who were not happy with reboot, have supported this petition. Assuming my estimated guess that there was around 500,000 original DMC fans who are not happy with the reboot, then the 66 crazy people represent 0,0001%.
That's not even 1%!
Now reflect at what i just said and read the underlined part at beginning of the quote above.
"The stench of entitlement" - what stench? The 0,0001%?

Moving on to "entitlement", fans contribute to a product. ChibiDante who is a forum member cosplays as DMC3 Dante. By him cosplaying he is advertising the product Devil May Cry.
Artists draw fan art and further advertise it. People make animated videos of DMC and so on.
On top of that many fans pay 60 dollars to support the game. So these fans have a right to voice their like or dislike of a serie or a product they have supported.
So why are you being such a douchebag and use the term "entitlement" as if it applies to every single of these fans? What good are you doing by using that word, you dont come off as more intelligent nor more unbiased and you make yourself look like a total idiot. So yeah...stop that?

The people who write articles or "news" on these site write at their own leasure or what they feel they want to expose because of a agenda.

Erik Kain from Forbes has talked about DmC controversy, and he has been in my opinion one of few individuals involved in gaming media that have been a decent job unlike the idiots such as Jim Sterling who posted a white hair picture only to further escalate the DmC hate train.

Three articles from Erik Kain worth reading

I am not a journalist but i know one thing, i wish i knew the budget of DMC 1, DMC 2, DMC 3, DMC 4 and DmC.
A investigating journalist would most likely find that out.
But there are few journalists in gaming media, only a bunch of idiots who think their rant/opinion is law of the universe.
Another journalist that i took notice of is Tody (whos a member on this forum).

This is old news indeed, they updated this list months ago when they posted "DmC had solid sales." Also that best sales list doesn't count DMC3:SE with DMC3 sales (i believe).

Glad to see it broke the million mark. Hoping to see a sequel, but knowing Crapcom's reputation...

(Fun fact: I'm so tired I actually forgot the word "reputation" for a minute and had to spend about twenty seconds trying to think of it.)

which leads to DMC4...and then Capcom thought by using DMC's success, DmC would sell just as well.
DMC 4 was coming of the hype of DMC 3 which basically reinvigorated the series after the disappointing DMC 2. Plus, it was the first DMC on a next gen console at that was a selling point. The hype train helped DMC 4 but, even though it sold the most it wasn't well received being dubbed the worst game in the series since 2. A part of why they were considering giving a reboot a shot.

DmC was just suffering the wrath of stubborn fanboys who hated the game from day 1.

And the bad PR and the Reviewers bringing up the hair in every review and overpraising the game and them blaming the people who they told "don't like it ,don't buy it." for not buying the game.

It was more then just stubborn fanboys.

So what reviews brought up the trivial matters that the stubborn fans did get all bent outta shape about? And oh no, the game was fairly received with most critics and you call that overpraising just because you think that that person's opinion of DmC shouldn't be so positive. Well only my opinion matters to me and I don't really worry about what many people have to say about something. DmC isn't the only game out there that gets that particular kinda grief. People seem to just complain if someone else likes something better than them regardless. Not just videogames but freaking everything.

DmC got grief as soon as it was shown off and many fans condemned it out the gate. At least a large vocal minority. Sh!t happens. You can like or hate DmC and I don't give a flying f#ck but as a fan that's been playing since the start, yea, DmC gets more hate than it deserves. I don't care anymore,

Im not saying it should be negative or positive, but balanced and looked at, the Reviews didn't do that, they listed the mistakes and they ignored it.

Their like this:

Example: The gameplay got disappointing after level 15, the story wasn't great, the color coded enemies broke the flow of the game.

Nope 9/10.

Im not saying it should be overpraised over ripped to pieces, but balancing the cons and pros, not going to one side and being ignorant of that review is the guiding voice of the game.

There are freaking hundreds of reviews out there filled with their personal thoughts of the game. Somebody can call this the best game they've ever played and I couldn't call them a liar if that's how they really felt. I think I can sense when a conflict of interest is going on and also I tend to only go to a few specific reviewers looking for a second opinion in the first place.

Reviews are not the word of law but for people to get an idea of the pros and cons of a product and people need to understand that their own opinion may differ from the person reviewing. Seems people forget about that part when it comes to reviews and can only look up at reviews to b!tch about the person not having the same opinion as them.

wow. i didn't know that this was taken to the white house...ok then...well. moving on
No. That petition was taken off the website within like a day or so but, not after making the video game news headlines showing of their stupidity. Petition to pull the reboot off the shelves because they wanted a different game? Because this is totally how democracy works.

It's not even funny. It's just pathetic and sad. Like close to a hundred people signed it before it was pulled for being too dumb. At least the petition to get real life Judge Dredds for example are silly things that are actually fun and cool.

I know some who admitted to signing it as a joke.

and last I checked it was only around 60 to 70 signatures and while I can not say how many signed it in seriousness or as a joke its apparent that not ALL of those signatures where made by the overly butthurt crowd.
