Capcom confirmed sales figures for DmC

I know a lot of people were interested in knowing exactly how well DmC did, but there's a lot of websites and posts that all say different things. Most sources seem to agree the game sold around 1 million copies. Capcom has DmC listed as selling 1.1 million.

Seems like any game that sells at least one million units is considered a platinum title and considered a success (sort of). Anyway, I just thought I'd share this as it's the confirmed sales figures. In case anyone was still wondering. :)

Well at least Capcom made a profit.

But yea, still the worst seller in the series, and for a reboot that is supposed to gain a bigger audience and more sales that can't look to good to Capcom.

Would be amazing if we knew the budget for all Devil May Cry games and Dmc the reboot

We could then compare them and decide which one was most profitable.

Las time I heard it was like this;

1. DMC2
2. DMC1
3. DMC4
4. DMC3
5. DmC

Something is wrong with that list since I'm positive that DMC4 is actually the HIGHEST sold in the series.

I think its more like

1.DMC4
2.DMC2
3.DMC1
4.DMC3
5.DmC

Im curious as to how DMC3 sold second worse since its worshiped as the best DMC there.

Because it was riding in off of the failure of DMC2 which sold well but was hounded by fans and critics alike.

Obviously fan trust was low so not as many must have went out to purchase it.

The sales did however pick up AFTER the word was out that it was a great Devil May Cry experience and all the positive reviews showed up around the web and in magazines.

which leads to DMC4...and then Capcom thought by using DMC's success, DmC would sell just as well.

The thing is, while this does draw parallels to the DMC2 into DMC3 situation where it had to ride in off of a previous failure the thing with DmC is that it had the the kinda "salt in wounds" approach by not only riding off of a previous failure of DMC4 fans reception wise but also the fact that Capcom had to balls to make it a reboot that changed and brought in a new and different Dante and Devil may Cry world.

To be honest they where lucky in my opinion to have sold that much considering how little DMC3 sold after DMC2 despite the fact that it was still set in the same universe.

For DmC to have sold so much despite what it had going against it is actually pretty good.

But Capcom is always going to see it from a business perspective first, and from a business perspective a reboot not outselling the previous series isn't a good thing.

Yeah, I do give DmC credit at the fact that it actually sold. Even so, it still sold less then the others.
