Can this new DmC deliver 8+ score and great sales

The future of Devil May Cry depends on Capcom. Your thread title and the question asked in the poll are inconsistent to one another so I'm not sure what this thread is about. :S
If the game will be able to get a high score and great sales? I believe it definately can if it succeeds in expanding the fanbase and gets alot more gamers interested in Devil May Cry in the western half of the world. The score would depend on the quality of the gameplay, graphics and storyline which looks good so far, imo.
As to what direction I want the series to take is a really difficult question, but that's because I don't really care. I just want there to be a Devil May Cry game for me to play. If it all fails then I'll just go back and play Devil May Cry 3 which is my favourite one of the series, soon to be played in HD! :D

Same here, i didnt know which one i would prefer.

i think the poster just wanted to do two threads but crammed them into one so i will answer both.

I dont know if it can do either as the game is not due for release, plus im not an industry expert so i couldnt guess either well.

Well a game on sparda would be on the bottom of the list since i rather see them get this series ship-shape and in capable hands before that. Kamiya might have bad blood with capcom so that would be hard to get around.
So i would just reboot as nero wasnt a direction we needed. We had a lot of things we could of done with young dante. But we have him so we might as well use him so i would just make sense out of the series lame ducks. just make DMC5 that clears up the poltholes and makes DANTE relevant again.

It all depends on the story of DmC.
If the story is good i will guess DmC gets 8.5.

If story is bad it will get under 7.5.

By story i mean how they present story: voice, atmosphere (feelings a character is in in a scene), facial expression etc.
 
i think it is possible for DmC to do very well.

i think Capcom should continue Dante and Nero's story and tell Sparda's story.
 
I think That this reboot could score well, but rather I could see continuation of story we all know well in true sequel called DMC5. But I still wish this new game get well.
 
ninja theory on story and capcom on gameplay ofcourse it will get a good score.but the question is will it sell well as said by subject 64432b
 
A game can score 10 and still sell poorly. (Although it's very rare for that to happen)
Depends on how well they're advertised and the build up to their release.

Then again, if this game get's 8+, fans will always vote with their money as to whether they will buy a game. Only then, will capcom know if they've got it right or wrong
 
bottom line is Capcom could care less about the ratings or scores for the game.

All it will boil down to is sales.

To Capcom all they see is sales=money and if this game sells well they will most likely keep with this new direction.

Even if the ratings are bad.

If the ratings are bad but the sales are good than I can totally see Capcom getting NT to make another one and addressing the issues that made the game do so poorly in the score department.

if what you're saying is ture than all i can say is abandon all hope even if this does well or not they won't think of brining back old series :( F*** all i want is old dante BACK !! if it ain't broke DON'T FIX IT !!

Dante&vergil ( 2000-2008) they didn't even live till 2012
