Because dmc2 was a faliur and they are trying to replace it...nothing you see now and prolly see in future dmc will not lead up to dmc2...capcom is planning on remaking dmc2.(only rumors though)

I doubt they are gonna remake it.
I mean, people already played the game before and all eyes will be on DMC4.
If they had changed the story line then maybe people will buy it, but from my opinion I dont think they will remake it.

They said they was gona remake it to a point where there are new characters,storyline and new dante model but that is just a rumor
