Both sides acting like children

I don't think of it like that. when the 2010 trailer came, everyone was ****ed off, and they had good reason for being ****ed. THEY CHANGED DANTE. It's something un speakable because he's iconic to them. some Dante was their first video game character. That's something you don't screw with in the video game world. ask for NT, they got cocky with power. Taemen if that's how you spell it, said Dante wasn't cool anymore. Now if that was some ordinary guy, it would be fine, but when it's cominng from someone who's handling a DMC game and possibly the next generation of DMC, it kind of tends to put people on edge. Personally I think it's lookin' good, but I still don't like Taemen for saying that, but then again, I don't care about his comments all together. He's just kind of a ****.
Yes, that is something you do in the video game world. The game world is a place of corporations, studios, and businesses. You change something because you think it'll bring you more money and fame. For these guys it's "I care about my games...but I really want some money too!"

I think that the DMC fanbase was acting childish in that we threw tantrums and spammed youtube videos and threads like kids while the teams working on DmC were just minding their own business. Yes, Tameem said that about Dante. So? Is it not his reasoning--also because Capcom told them to do it.
We have to understand that the world of video games isn't just a little fantasy dream land. It's also a place of money and fortune.

Yeah, I know. T_T But I guess that's how the video game world works. I'm just glad that they didn't decide to end Devil May Cry completely.

See, that's the bright side! :D As long as I get my fix of stylish gun-and-sword action, I'm happy!

Yeah after all its their game who are we to advice them on how DMC should/shouldn't be :(
Well we are the customers. But there's a difference between friendly concerns and wishes and blatant flaming and hatred.

I would like to see a new story trailer trailer now Please Ninja theory&Capcom

-------Sincerely DMC vetran fan who has beatan all DMC modes and completed all the secret missions i think i am worthy to know more about this DmC

It's not being childish to care about the direction of a franchise that you're heavily invested on. DMC was unique because it was about Dante. It was about Dante being cool and feeling cool while you were playing him; and the combat and gameplay was integral to that. Now, whatever they did to Dante is not right even if they say it's a completely different Dante from a completely different DMC. There was no need for a reboot.

I think Capcom just sold one of their AAA+ titles to a western developer who has no respect for the Japanese game. Now, NT is obviously trying to own Dante by coming up with their own design and sticking their godamn flag on Dante's sleeve so the world can see that Dante's from UK. A lot of people will miss this but for me as a businessman? I don't miss a ****. And they are being too obvious.

True both sides are acting silly but Capcom KNEW we fans would rage when they changed Dante and DMC. I understand this change was most likely done to make more money but DmC ****ED OFF us fans and that's the gospel truth.

It isn't???

Point out where DmC doesn't fullfil this criteria. Hard mode: no lying.
You simply can't make an informed statement like this (or imply it, like you just did), without having your hands had on the game. We can judge by the trailers we've got and that's all. Until now the game doesn't disappoint me, let's see what it will look like when it releases in November/December, ok?

Now, whatever they did to Dante is not right even if they say it's a completely different Dante from a completely different DMC. There was no need for a reboot.
Capcom itself begs to differ.

DMC is far from triple-A. There's too few people who actually give a damn about the series. It might have a dedicated fan-base, but seriously, in comparison to true triple-A-titles like MGS, Halo, or whatever it is people nowadays feed their consoles DMC's fanclub is needle inbetween straws.
The "respect"-thingy is a nice touch: we're talking about NT fullfilling Capcom's wishes, but the Brits are the bad guys. Be more obvious.

Now, NT is obviously trying to own Dante by coming up with their own design and sticking their godamn flag on Dante's sleeve so the world can see that Dante's from UK.
Union Jack is widely known as a punk-symbol all over the world. I hate it when people misinterpret obvious facts. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure that much out for Christ's sake.
Capcom decided to redesign Dante, NT simply got the assignment to do so. That's how it went down and no Eventstatus or CapcomUnity can change that fact.

Can't some of us admit we don't like DmC Dante and be over with it? Lol :p

But why does no one like him? If he wasn't an Alternate Dante, would people look at him as a threat to DMC? If he was a new character, replacing Dante, yeah, people would still be ****ed, but at least it wouldn't be as big. (But then again it would be DMC4 all over again) Anyway, I like new Dante, I wanna see what the kids got.

Right back at you, why should we like him?;)
Personally excluding the fact that he replace Dante and all that, I wouldn't have liked him (and probably even bothered with him) if he was the protagonist of some new unknown franchise at all. It is because he is in a Devil May Cry that he takes any of my attention at all. I liked the anime-with-western-gothic-stuff atmosphere that the old DMC produced and it was probably because of that, that it became one of my favourites. And the old characters (not only Dante) embody that, so I like them. DmC Dante looks like he came over from another game which only kept the gothic-western part of the atmosphere and tried to move towards more real-like appearances. Not saying it's bad, but for me since it's a fantasy setting already, I prefer going all the way. For others it is not so and it is understandable.

Also the situation isn't as tragic. He already has more fans you'd think.

Yeah, when you say it like that it does make sense. Plus, NT Dante probably wouldn't be as talked about now if it wasn't for him being the reboot of Dante, then Capcom change it to an alternate universe story, to a prequel to DMC3 and back to alternate. They swiych ideas faster then a...what's that word for when you act one way then behave the next? And also what do you think?

Well, it was obvious (to them) that he had to be Dante. They wanted a new wind in the franchise since after DMC3. They tried DMC4 with Nero, but excluding the fans that had DMC4 as their first game in the franchise and a few others who prefer Nero to Dante, most of the old fans were like: MADE DANTE THE MAIN CHARACTER AGAIN!! *attacks Capcom*

Therefore they concluded that "Dante" being the main character of "Devil May Cry" is something that shouldn't be changed, so instead of creating a new guy, they created a new "Dante" with those results.

And you're probably right. If he wasn't "Dante" there wouldn't be such a fuss over him/his looks etc. But then again, there wouldn't be any problem at all if this wasn't a Devil May Cry, but some sort of spin off instead.

Even if this was said to be a spin-off by capcom i would be more than happy to welcome DmC but a REBOOT ? that sure rings a bell doesn't it ? IMO Capcom should have played safe by making this as a Spin-off everyone would be happy ! they could easily run two series in parallel well they still can go back to the old series tho because I'm pretty sure this isn't going to get 9+ scores and bumper sales like DMC1&3

because there are so many games out this can only get something like 8+ scores and decent sales almost same as DMC4 so its just long long wait for DMC5 that's all but for sure we'll see dante again someday like 2016 :/
