Am i the only one who finds this whole "DmC" thing to be stupid?
Yes fans i get you were screwed over but look at it this way , Ninja theory did not start acting like a pack of a-holes until after you guys started acting like someone in kindergarten, you guys drew first blood by complaining . and ninja theory/capcom don't even think i am going to go easy on them , they knew how delicate the situation was and you guys just started stepping on it, they were aware of the backlash and they decided to make it worse by making fun of there favorite character , this whole thing could've simply been solved if both teams just calmed down and acted professional
*sigh* but no they couldn't have done that , you had to make it a contest of who could be more immature
what do you all think? please lock this thread if you guys
I'm not sure what you mean by 'this whole "DmC" thing'. If you mean the game itself, then you're probably not the only one who thinks it's stupid, considering the masses have been trying to boycott the game before they even knew squat about it, aside from a 2 minute trailer that revealed absolutely nothing.
If you mean the flame wars raging on about DmC (I mean really, this hasn't died out yet? o_0) then, again, no you're not the only one who thinks it's stupid. I think it's immature/childish/kiddish/facepalm-worthy/frustrating/etc, too. But then if you go do a survey to see what % of the DMC fanbase are under 20 and how many are 20+, it's not surprising that the response is so childish.
I've said it before and this is the last time I'll say it, if you fall in the 20+ category and you're either the instigator of the drama or you follow the majority of teenage angst about DmC, (you probably still live in the basement in your mum's house and all you do is play games, sponge on your parents, and pick/start fights with kids online) you should be ashamed of yourself for acting like a total brat.
Kids will be kids, so let them be kids. I have no issue with kids disagreeing and having a little bit of a brawl because they're still learning how to accept different opinions and tastes (for example, a kid throwing a massive tantrum in the playground because his friends want to play basketball and he wants to play soccer, and neither side are willing to compromise. This is the same thing that is happening between the DmC supporters and sceptics). What gets to me are the people who are supposed to be a little bit wiser that need to be told to exert some self-control. It's ridiculous! You're on a FORUM. You have all the time in the world to consider what you want to put in your posts. You have logic, so use it. Kids' emotions still trump their logic, especially where it concerns the matters of the heart ( in this case, the DMC franchise). That's their excuse, so for the 20+ fans, what is YOUR excuse?
Anyway, back to the OP, I'm not sure whether you're ranting about the two fanbases or the companies, or both?
Given all I've seen and heard so far, I don't think Capcom or NT have been acting immature. They've taken the backlash in their stride. The unprofessional thing to do would have been to a.) completely scrap DmC mid-development, or b.) change Dante back to the original Dante for fanservice. There's a lot of long hours and a lot of scrapping going on during development, and it's a bitter pill to swallow when all your effort is slung back in your face and you're being sent death threats and hate mail and there are people trying to sabotage your work, just because it's not their cuppa tea. If I were Tameem, I would have pulled the bird at the raging fans because I mean really, I'd be livid that my version of something is trying to be suppressed by the fanbase. NT was contracted by Capcom to make DmC. Throw your tantrums and get it out of your system, and then grow up. Like I tell my kids all the time, you can scream and cry and shout and pound the floor with your fists as hard and as long as you want, I'M NOT GOING TO CHANGE MY MIND.
You just have to accept it.
If you can't, then that's your deal, not mine.
