All the fuss about DmC wouldn't be there if they just made this a Spin-off

Eh, we've been over this hundreds of times. It's the reboot and it's happening....and honestly, if it were a spinoff, everyone would still be ****ed for no apparent reason...they'd say something about how NT and Capcom have no balls for NOT making it a reboot, or they'd say something about how this character fits nothing into the DMC universe and would complain about ANOTHER new main protagonist being added (because Nero had that effect for some strange reason). Honestly, the grass is always greener on the other side, but it would still have the same reaction.

No it's pretty true. You have made it abundantly clear that you (as in the people who constantly complain about this, not you personally) do NOT like the character in the Devil May Cry universe. You do not like Dante being replaced. You do not want anything but DANTE DANTE DANTE (see Nero comments). There is no reason to be hating on NT because of the game. They didn't even PURPOSEFULLY insult you. But every word they say is taken to heart. If this were a spin-off (which technically it is, since they have ANNOUNCED it's a parallel universe) you all would still complain about the fact that it is being made. Every thread I read is CoolDemon saying what terrible people NT are and how they're "unoriginal", trying to convince himself. All I see is the people who dislike the game (something they haven't played or even have a basis to judge it on) try to find a way to twist the facts so that it's not the new DMC canon. Capcom has made their choices, it's happening. And I can guarantee that based off of what I've seen, reactions would be the same if they just came out and said "it's a spinoff". Same Dante, same game as far as this is concerned.

but it would had not been as bad , and really Tameem knew if he said that old dante was uncool that it would make things worse , since fans were complaining about dante not being in it , anyone could have seen bad things said about him making things worse from a mile away, so to say they weren't purposely irritating us and alex was saying the fans were acting like children , thinking all they cared about was the hair ,basically it is safe to say capcom and ninja theory are just being trolls , saying how great the game is and then cowering in fear

Technically it maybe somehow magically "Spin-off" for your eyes but officially it isn't! it is confirmed REBOOT by capcom so there is no point in arguing it !

I guess for me , I'd just focus on making DMC5 that advances the story and answer the big plot holes unanswered questions.

Spinoffs will be after as I have to earn back that fan trust first.

They have made it perfectly clear this is a reboot (but they can still continue the original series) and using the built in fortune teller in my mecha swiss army pogostick , it says things will stay just how you would expect them.
